Im not sure if anyone had done this before, so if its been done just ignore this thread. Anyway for all of the forum goers who have names that others may not undestand, this is going to be where you explain them or tell where they came from. I guess ill start it off. When i first wanted to join the forum i couldnt think of and origial name so i came up with NG02. NG stands for new guy(lol) and 02 was when i joined back in 2002. Not to complicated. Anyone else.

I'm pretty sure I responded once to a thread like this a long time ago, but I'll do it again.

Anyways, its Celtic Emperor because I have and am proud of my celtic roots and heritage (mostly welsh and irish), and emperor because I like and seem to associate more with the emperor type characters in movies, fiction, and anime. Emperor Beld (from Record of Lodoss War, an anime series), Emperor Palpatine (from Star Wars) and any of those strong leader types who can kick ass when they want/need to.

I wanted to be an emperor too, so its Celtic Emperor! Makes sense. 😀

Thanx for replying. Like I said i wasnt sure if its been done before. When i first joined i was a lurker and all i cared about was seeing clips and pix so i never even would go in the discussion sections. But recently i started posting more and actually caring about what others thought, so i was just curious. Anyone else?

After a bit on my show about coming up with your superhero name, several of my listeners started calling me.....

THE SEAN MAN!!!!!!!!!

Absolutely! It's the classic theme from everyone's childhood superhero fun....

Dun Da Da DUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUHHHH!!!!!

P.S.- I swear by all that's holy that I'm getting that video list to you Doc :imouttahe

Suweeet!

I think if I could choose my theme music, it'd be the theme from "Perry Mason", or maybe some tango music, although I can't dance like John Travolta. Or maybe some bitchin' surf-guitar.
Unfortunately, God has already chosen polka-tunes for the music of my life. :manicd:

No worries on the videolist. I'm still collecting, but it's out of sheer obsessive-compulsive disorder at this point. I don't even have time to watch anything, anymore.

My name came from Ozzy the creator of Yenny, because he used to call me Enola, which is my second middle name, and instead of saying Enola he just turned it into Enny....then came Ennykins 😱

I took my name from Ignatz Mouse, one of the principal characters in George Herriman's landmark comic strip "Krazy Kat," which ran in the Hearst newspapers from 1913 to 1944. (No, I didn't grow up on it...I'm not quite that old.)
I really don't have anything in common with Ignatz. He's a sadistic little bastard who lives only to bounce bricks off the head of Krazy Kat, who adores him. But I love the strip for its surreal whimsy and the astonishing imagination which permeates the images and the language.
My signature picture is Ignatz, also, but the sig quote has nothing to do with the strip. It's from a historical anecdote involving the great Russian basso Feodor Chaliapin, who was world famous around the turn of the Twentieth Century. He was in rehearsal at the Metropolitan Opera House one afternoon in the 1920's and the proceedings had ground to a halt while the orchestra worked out some difficulty with the score. The singers were standing around waiting to get on with it and Chaliapin's face was becoming more mournful by the minute. The director, solicitous for his star's comfort, sent an assistant onstage to offer Chaliapin a chair so he could rest until the rehearsal could resume. Chaliapin looked down from his towering height and intoned,"It is not my body that is tired, it is my soul. But my soul has no ass, so forget the chair!"

I came up with gigglegal because I giggle alot and I'm a gal obviously...76 is the year that I was born in.

I shouldve know this was already done before and that first link was actually pretty recent, damn where was i at when that one was first started. Aw well the damage is already done, thanx TklDuo-Ann for the links. I wonder how many threads are just rebirths of threads already started before, i bet theres alot of them.

I took my screen name from the classic Peter Pan TV musical that starred Mary Martin. I Won't Grow Up was Peter's nose-thumbing at a stuffy adult world.

Mephistopheles (also Mephisto, Mephistophilus, Mephist and Mephistophilis as referred to in the original text) is a name given to one of the chief demons of Christian mythology that figure in European literary traditions. The name is frequently used as an alternative form of Satan or the Devil. Because the name Mephistopheles evolved during the Renaissance, Mephistopheles makes no appearance in the Bible. However, according to a certain extra-biblical texts relating to Christian mysticism, and a number of related works written during the 17th century, Mephistopheles was the first to join with Lucifer during the rebellion against God at the beginning of time. When the rebel angels were banished from Heaven, Mephistopheles was the second to fall, after Lucifer. In exchange for his loyalty Lucifer granted him power in Hell, appointing him as his second-in-command.

Mephistopheles appears most prominently in the legend of Faustus, a man who sells his soul to the Devil. This legend was famously recorded in Christopher Marlowe's play from the 1590s, The Tragical History of Doctor Faustus, and in the classic 19th century drama Faust (Part 1 and Part 2) by the influential German writer and humanist Johann Wolfgang von Goethe.

Mephistopheles is known throughout Goethe's book as a "fallen angel" himself, as he clearly states to Faustus. He rebels against the authority of God and is thrown out of heaven into hell.

Mephisto is also the title of a book by contemporary Irish writer John Banville. The novel treats the descent of a young math prodigy, and burn victim, Gabriel Swann, into a personal hell, accompanied by various Mephisotopholean characters, including Felix and Mr. Kasperl.
Wikiquote has a collection of quotations by or about:
Mephistopheles

The meaning, if any, of the name "Mephistopheles" is unknown, although the historical evidence suggests that it was invented by the anonymous author of the German chapbook that made the Faust story famous. Many attempts have been made to construct etymologies from Greek or Hebrew, but with no plausible results.

:atom: Actually, My name means nothing. I made it up when I joined the Tickle Theater. I just kept it for this forum for consistency. :xpulcy: :whip: :woot:

Don't mind me. I'm just abusing my right to use these cool new smilies. :wiseowl: :couch:

My name is not (as many people probably think) anything to do really with the 'He-man and the Masters of the Universe' Cartoon but actually came from a Rugby 7's Tournament that I played in with some of my mates a couple of summers ago to raise money for a local Donkey charity.

Because it was an animal charity one of the rules was that all the teams had to be animal related such as 'The Stover Stallions', 'Preston Pit-bulls' etc.
My mate Tom was our Captain and the one that talked us all into playing in the first place, so when we thought of a name for our team we called it 'Toms Tigers'. We all agreed that it was a great name and had stripey shirts printed up and even bought black, white and orange face paint and on the day got Tom's missus to paint stripes on our faces so we looked the part.

The only problem was, eventhough we had entered the name on the offical entry form a month earlier, when we turned up on the day we found that another team were called 'Tim's Tigers'.

To cut an already over-long story short. The Tournament organisers called Tom and the other Captain together and they settled it in a toss of a coin. Tom lost, so we had to think of a new Cat/tiger related team name fast. So the 'Battlecats' were born.

In case your wondering (Ok ! you're not but here goes anyway!!) we won the tournament beating 'Rattery Raptors' 22-12 in the final, I scored two tries and best of all, when all the sponsors money went in the pot, we raised £10,000 for the Donkeys.

Since then the Battlecats have played reformed several times for one reason or another usually Sports or Booze related, so when I joined up here Battlecat just seemed a distinctive name to use in honour of my mates.
