The only funny part of this UK riot epidemic has been listening to US news "Anchors" struggling to pronounce the word "Tottenham".

I must hear this! I thought Birmingham was bad enough...

Such a shame though. Whilst I'm sure a good number of the rioters probably haven't enjoyed the benefits of strong parenting or anything approaching an easy life, this is hardly the way to show it. I'm afraid these people just need to grow up.

On the subject of weak UK Policing, one newspaper columnist described hearing a senior Metropolitan Policeman on the radio defending his handling of the riots, as sounding like "a particularly feeble edition of "" Thought for the Day""....which probably sums up the problems we have with Uk policing at the moment.

Somebody once said that the best kind of conservative is a liberal who has just been mugged (or something like that)........ in the light of recent events on the streets of London lets hope we are heading for a conservative landslide in the UK!

Conservatives don't generally have to resort to overt violence. They've got money, power and influence. Violence is the province of the disenfranchised and disorganized.

Actually, many of the people the news media refer to as "conservatives" are actually dangerous radicals. "Conservative" means sailing close to shore, so to speak. The flat-Earth radicals we've got stateside seem bound and determined to run the ship of state onto the nearest rocks, as witness the recent debt-ceiling travesty.
