I have lived in Florida most of my life and have never seen anything like what we are experiencing. We had some damage in the Tampa Bay area with Frances that wasn't too bad but losing power and the gasoline shortage was a bit challenging for most. Now Ivan is bearing down on us again. WOW. This is tremenous and unthinkable. I'm on business in Chicago but will be home just in time for this next storm. I was gonna spend this weekend cleaning the yard debris from the last weekend but it looks like I'll be riding Ivan out instead. I do live on the water and have been reletively lucky thus far but that luck may just run out.

We'll see what happens.

I feel the need to crack a jaw. You can't hit a hurricane;
it hits you. They always come out swinging. Sometimes it misses,
sometimes you'll be missed!I hate fucking bullies!!! But enough
with the optimism...



And on this rare occasion where I spout hate;

I hate people who push their way into an elevator while others
are still trying to exit!!! I don't get it- it might be a sub
species thing. I understand it at rush hour in a N.Y.C. subway.
In an elevator-NO.

I feel slightly better already.

Word to the delicious Mrs. Kansas! She's been without
electricity in her home since dear francis...she's doing fine.

Eat, drink - be drunk on safety! Cause by the time your done boarding
up the joint, the vodka may be gone...
