Too deviant for Deviant.

So I just joined and posted some stuff at Deviant Art. And I come to find out that some of my work is too deviant for Deviant, and I removed a massive upload of art. That's fine. I got a nice heads-up from a member and they directed me to (what Deviant considers) a sharper point on how they define "pornographic". This is good. Rules should be plain, and I'm happy to follow them.

What I find funny is the hairs that are split. Blood and Gore are perfectly acceptable, but bodily fluids and masturbation are not. Frankly, I would prefer masturbation and bodily fluids to being bloodied and gored.

So even with the ADULTS ONLY option engaged on the art view, I guess the depicted adult material is too deviant. I appreciate their take, and even more, that at least state their policy and don't leave it to random judgment calls. I would agree that without their constraints, Deviant would shortly become a haven for Porn Mongers and their incessant wares.

No complaints here. Just an interesting experience. Thank the maker for the TMF. It's good to be here... home.

I wonder if those censors got the choice to either see an exposed nipples in real life, or bear witness to a beheading...which they would chose. Unfortunately I think my brilliant rhetorical example would explode in my goddamn face because I think a lot of those people WOULD rather see violence than sex.

this is something i have noticed. there is some nasty stuff on deviant art, some horrifying bloody gore. and yet, they cannot accept anything that might have a pleasurable theme to it? weird.

Deviant Art is ridiculous.

By (my) definition, porn is something you watch/read/feel to get sexually exited, and the "something" is produced in order to get its user exited. So porn isn't necessarily in the essence of an art piece. Porn exists only in the interaction of a user, producer and a piece of media. Porn is a way using and producing stuff. Of couse, the border between porn and other use- and producingforms of media like "art" and "entertainment" isn't clear. For example, I can get esthetic pleasure from photographs of japanese bondage or get interested in a narrative in some erotic story. You could watch CAB's artwork to study the layout.

Something like (using myself as an example) pictures of females in lingerie, pictures of females in uniforms, pictures of naked females, pictures of females in bondage, pictures of people dominating other people and tickling-related artwork could be considered porn. The list goes on and on. All of the things I mentioned above (and a lots of other things too) are published on Deviant Art. And I dare to say, that some of this content is produced to make the spectator/reader/consumer sexually exited. So its not only used but also produced as PORN. And the mods of Deviant Art know it.

So everything from naked furries being tickled by tentacles to close-ups of naked vaginas goes, it's not porn. But the EVER-WISE and INFINITELY JUST RULES of Deviant Art will tell that your content is porn, if it has a penis in a clearly sexual contact (masturbation is sexual contact) or it depicts a vaginal or anal penetration. Ok, I admit, that kind of stuff usually is at least a little pornish, but WHY THE HELL THEY ALLOW ALL THE "OTHER" PORN STAY? They should really change their hypocritical policy to something like "All porn that we think is artsy and quirky enough, but doesn't show any form of sexual contact of vaginas, penises and anuses, or sperm, is allowed. All depictions of violence and injuries are allowed".

So now I'm just going to deviantart.com to post a picture of freakin huge mutilated furry penis ejaculating blood on some chickens and see what happens...

Phewww... of course every website have the right to declare their own rules. I just don't see what's the point in DA's. Maybe the rule is there to keep the regular, shitty, mass-manufactured porn outside. I don't know...

Yes. It is the reason why I put up my own site. It's just a personal choice and I don't suggest all artists do it.
