Alot of the lists cater to the more recent wrestlers.
I have a history of picking up Wrestling, then drifting away for awhile, then coming back.
It started in the late 60's/early '70 thanks to my Grandfather watching it and exposing me to it.
Names like Dommenic Denucci,The Love Brothers,Chris "The Golden Greek" Tolos,Crazy Luke Graham,Pompero Firpo,The Sheik,The Mighty Igor,Wild Bull Currey,King Kurtis,and Louis Martinez predominated.
I had several wrestlers living in my hometown! They were Beautiful Bruce Swayze, Eric Hansen (aka Eric The Red),Hartford Love (Brother),and "Maddog" "Dutch" Momberg.I delivered the town paper to Adullah The Butcher for a brief time!!!
Out of that era came what I belief was the most vicious Wrestler I ever saw: "Waldo Von Erich" .The German thing was still a big thing back then, much like what U.S.A./Iran was to the Iron Shiek & Sargent Slaughter.Von Erich attacked Italians "Dennucci" and Americans (Ernie "The cat" Ladd). He hated everyone!
Then I abandoned Wrestling for awhile and came back in the late '70s to see a young Roddy Piper wrestle.I also liked The Magnificent Morocco and his battles with Snuka for the Intercontinental Belt.
I left for a short time and came back around the 1st Wrestlemania.
I hung around through the late 80's-left- and came back for the Stone Cold Era.
Now I just watch Monday Night Raw and that's it.It's good, but not great at the moment.
So if I had to pick wrestler out for merits of greatness,I'd say they would be:
1.Waldo Von Erich
2.The Magnificent Morocco
3.Bruno Sanmartino
4.Paul Orndorff
5.Bob Orton
6.Dick "The Bulldog" Brower
7.Chris Tolos
8.Stone Cold Steve Austin
9.Roddy Roddy Piper
10.Jesse Ventura
11.Ric Flair
12.Blackjack Mulligan
13.Eric the Red (deceased)
14.The Sheik (original -deceased)
15.Pompero Firpo
