In Granbury, six confirmed dead: dozens are injured to one degree or another, with hundreds of homes and commercial buildings damaged or destroyed. I was just watching a news briefing, five people remain unaccounted for as full scale search and rescue efforts are underway. Mother Nature unleashed her full fury on the residents of Hood County last night. A link to donate to the Red Cross relief fund is here.

Unfortunately it is the time of year for these things to happen.

Nighttime tornadoes are the scariest. My heart goes out to the folks in those storms' paths.

I was there (am here). There was one very close to where I was (not close enough to see though). I am terrified of tornadoes, especially since I live on the top floor of a three story apartment complex.

I know how devastating these storms can be...After going through the April 2011 outbreak here in Alabama; it puts things into proper perspective. Like us here in Alabama...Texans are tough and independent minded folks. They won't wait on the government to provide help before cleaning up and rebuilding their lives.

My heart goes out to all in North Texas.

Praying for those in OK and upper Texas. Especially those in that Elementary school, just so sad to see such devastation. My heart goes out to all the families.

The tornado that hit Moore, Oklahoma was reported to be two miles wide. The front is moving east and could cause another outbreak of tornadoes later this afternoon.

And now deepest sympathies to Oklahoma 🙁

Indeed. We like to make our neighbors to the North the butt of jokes, but when something like this great tragedy occurs, the people of Texas will rally around them to provide aid and comfort. Of that I have no doubt.

I've seen the damage even the F1s we get here occasionally can do. Tornadoes are horrible things.

My heart goes out to the residents of Texas and Oklahoma who are bearing up under this terrible force of nature.
