After the last LA/Passive Arts party, I've gotten a lot of "Teflon Steph" grief over the dagger I unknowingly got thru airport security in my bag. Now, I gotta get the damn thing back up here to its rightful owner. Is it safer to have it mailed or have it brought up via a darling visitor who's coming by train?

Steph, about the trainport security, that's tough to say. I imagine it's not as stringent as airline security, but I doubt it is non-existent. You might take a chance and be just fine, but if it's found for whatever reason, they just might put your name on a no-fly list. A buddy of mine through not fault of his own got his name on a list through a case of mistaken identity, and it was a nightmare getting it off.

Nobody has ever searched my baggage on Amtrak here in the east, Steph. I doubt anybody searches baggage on trains in California either.

I've ordered both knives and swords through the mail before (even after 9/11) and I've had no problems with it. Just make sure it's packed well, especially if it doesn't have a sheath. You don't want the package to accidentally stab someone 😀
