Old Henry Miller, what a scoundrel. In addition to his more obvious naughtiness, I can't help but notice a lot of tickling mentions. For example:
'Going up the winding narrow stairs behind her I couldn't resist the temptation to slide my hand up her crotch; we continued up the stairs that way, she looking back at me with a cheerful smile and wiggling her ass a bit when it tickled her too much.' (Tropic of Cancer)
and:
'He's such an obstinate cuss that he'll break his horns rather than give up. And he's getting sore now because I'm tickling him in the rump.' (Tropic of Cancer)
I spotted about a dozen references in Tropic of Cancer, which you'll have to go and look for if you're inclined.
I do not think he's 'one of us', nor do I think he's talking about actual tickling much of the time. But the references can, I think, be appreciated for what they are.
