I have had this conversation with people. It's a show about an office, with a bunch of idiots who work in said office. Much like seinfeld, i fail to see what is entertaining about this.
 
Yeah i really like the office. Although the earlier seasons were better.
 
So called 'Reality' TV. (Rich/really poor people getting paid to do stupid $h!t is not reality, it's scripted fiction. It's a waste of time to watch and it makes us all dumber.)

As for TV shows... even though there are some I don't like (although I don't watch TV for the most part) I say let them be. If people watch them then so be it. Bad ratings will get them canned soon enough sooner or later.

Seinfeld was the number one TV show of all time, and it's still on a number of channels every day. You are clearly in the minority.
 
To elaborate a bit on Reality shows that should be canceled, Survivor, The Amazing Race, The Apprentice, Nashville Star, American Idol, and Big Brother. The OC, The Hills, and One Tree Hill, as well.

Almost all of the news channels and shows. I have never seen so much one-sided reporting like there is on this election and about Iraq, in my life.

Smallville - It just goes on and on and on. At the end of every series something massively apocalyptic happens and within an episode or two of the new series everything is back to normal. It's jumped the shark a few times now.

It's difficult to come up with anything else since I try not to watch anything which really bothers me. It's only things which I used to like and have slid down hill that really bug me.

Reality TV is almost always crap and serves only to make celebrities out of people who you wouldn't piss on if their face was on fire, and a lot of comedy is pretty generic (The War at Home, etc) but I can usually spot them from a mile off.

Some of these shows like Smallville is ripe with cute girls in some kind of bondage pickles. The only plus!
 
For me its most soaps that should be canned, something those in the US I believe are already spared from.

I have to in a way disagree with the office but again it depends on what you mean.

The office was a great comdey show in the UK which some people seemed to like in the US so the networks over their did there own verson which to me is the not only dribble but a complete different show, dispite being and was meant to come from the oringal .... oh well.

I also agree that reality TV should also be canned.

lol, true. Thats pretty much the best reason to keep watching.

Bad news is I heard a rumor there will be no lana or kara in the new series. That seriously harms the cute girl / bondage pickle argument.

I've seen a few episodes of the US version of the office and thought it was OK, but they were episodes based closely on the UK version (which was excellent). Since there were only about a dozen episodes in the UK I don't know how the US version turned out after they exhausted the original material.

I mean no disrespect to any of the US members of the forum but I don't understand the obsession in the US with re-making TV shows and films from other countries. It can't just be the cliched 'yanks are too lazy to read subtitles' argument which gets thrown around since they remake UK shows (The Office, Life on Mars) whereas we just enjoy US TV for what it is.

Is it really a big deal culturally that TV and movies have to be americanized in order to make them enjoyable or is it the TV / film producers not giving their own viewers enough credit by assuming that they wont 'get' foreign TV?
