TV shows that went on too long

Just a few in my opinion that died a slow painful death.

MASH.One of the all time classic TV shows, but the last few years were almost painful to watch. And that final two hour episode? Oy.

All In The Family.A ground breaking show that should have called it a night when Rob Reiner and Sally Struthers left. The less said about Archies Place the better.

Seinfeld. It was sad watching that show sputter and smoke like a 1968 Dodge Dart on it's way to the junk yard. The final episode was just..pathetic.

Frasier.Loved that show, and i still catch reruns of the early years when i can.The writers seemed too lose their direction the last few years of the show.Ended with a thumbs down.

The Drew Carey Show.It didn't run all that long, but i thought the first few seasons were hilarious. After the third year or so it just became weird and bizzare rather then funny. If there was a final episode,i don't recall watching it.I had already given up before it went off the air.

Any other nominations?

Prison Break, though it hasn't run for very long either. Actually, is it done yet? I haven't been paying attention. Anyway, what was a cool idea initially turned into a bunch of cloak and dagger/conspiracy stuff later on. Well, that stuff was always in the background, but I think it lost its appeal once it started coming off like Mission: Impossible.

Mind of Mencia went on for too long in it's first moments of life.
I really hate that guy.

"Small Wonder". That show should have had the plug pulled after the first five minutes of airtime, but no -- they had to let entire episodes roam free!

I've always thought The Soprano's should have stopped after three seasons.

Gotta disagree about "Seinfeld", that show just was just hitting it's peak, coming up with completely original storylines not borrowed or ripped off from old shows.(see below) Plus it was totally goofy and stuck to the "no hugs" rule it made for itself.

"Cheers".....ran out of gas two seasons earlier, was borrowing storylines from other shows in it's last season.

"Happy Days".....:eeew:......Ritchie left, Fonzie went from street tough to tender, caring, understanding shop teacher!!

"Welcome Back Kotter"......Barbarino, Washington,.....and Kotter all left!! Leaving the show to Horshack, Epstein, and Mr. Woodman! Last episode I remember watching, Horshack talked a suicidal girl off the school building ledge. Really!!

Drew

Seinfeld - WAY TOO LONG! I could never watch an entire episode. One i got about 10 minutes into was "the soup nazi" NO SOUP FOR YOU!!!!..... oh no they have to go to one of the other 60,000 places in NYC that sell soup. Anything that Kramer EVER did, just stupid.

But i've never been one to like a show that the masses do. Oh well, i guess i just have to be in the minority.

Yeah, another one that went on past it's prime.

Never cared for that show from the start.A cheap rip off of American Graffiti in my opinion.

I was never a big fan of that show either. It wore thin quickly, like cheap underwear.🙂

I've always thought The Soprano's should have stopped after three seasons.

I wouldn't have ended it that early myself but I think season 6 was un-necessary and didn't really go anywhere. With some tweaks to the plot lines in season 5 they could have wrapped it up in a much more satisfactory way.

Stargate should have been ended after season 8. Instead they just bought in new characters, a new enemy and just slogged on for the sake of it for 2 more seasons.

CSI (including the spinoffs) now totals something like 20 seasons, that's got to be enough. At least cancel the two oldest ones instead of simultaneously making 3 different versions of the same show.

Power Wankers.... urm Rangers....

only one deserves 45 years plus.....!!!! (stupid 16 year gap not counted) Now WHO is that?

Yeah well what about -

90210 Brenda, Brandon and kelly? Come on

Reality Shows -

RW/RR Challenge! These kids make a fucking fortune playing these games against themselves. I bet if we challenged them to a DUEL we'd win! Just put these kids in a set of stocks :roflmao: and see all of us win some real cash!

"Friends" went on too long for me, I stopped watching the last two seasons.

"Grey's Anatomy" is now going on too long.

"My Mother the Car" went on too long during its first episode. 😛

Roseanne - as much as I absolutely LOVE that show, after they won they lottery it was ASS.

The Nanny.
It's back on Nick At Nite. Every time she talks something dies.

Friends. They should've nipped it in the bud after the first 4 (perhaps 5) seasons.

I will nominate ER. As much as I am a fan of the show, the 12th - 14th seasons stank like Artoos week old socks. Although, they did come back STRONG with the 15th and final season...so I suppose that's good.

Every back stabbing, friend betraying, cheating, amoral reality show ever made that lasted more than a single episode went on too long IMO. :xpeepsofa

*gasp!* He must be cheating on Ray! Quick! Someone call the tabloids!

The Nanny.
It's back on Nick At Nite. Every time she talks something dies.

Youngs kids should not be exposed to the wretched, twisted psychologically battering woman that is 'The Nanny'. Worst show ever.

Everybody Loves Raymond

Yes to all of the above.

What about Sanford and Son? I remember Lamont left the show, then it ended up with Fred selling the junkyard to some guy who turned the place into a hotel called the Sanford Arms. Pathetic!

ER
Friends
Seinfeld
Dynasty
Dallas
Cosby Show
Good Times
Sandford and Son
The Jeffersons
Girlfriends
MASH-definitely (After-MASH)-what on earth were they thinking?
Golden Girls
I agree on CSI to a point. Get rid of the original; the others have some mileage on them. Besides, without CSI and USA network, I'd have nothing to watch on tv!

And last, but certainly not least, would be.........

Some of you (if not most of you) might not be familiar, so google it people!

Tyler Perry's landmark character of Madea!

For those of you who are familiar, you know he should've retired her years ago, but the people won't let him! But she needs to go.....trust me on this! A man dressing in bad drag only gets so much mileage then it has to go!
