My Dad recently celebrated his 85th birhday.

Thanksgiving, was a perfectly pleasant, family affair, with all family members invited.

Two days ago, I knew something was wrong. My Dad and I check in with each other by noon every day, to just make sure its all okay.

Wednesday morning, nothing.

He called me when I was eating lunch,. I could not hear, and it almost sounded like he dropped the phone.

Late yesterday, I got a terrifying call.

Your father was taken to the ER of "X". (His least favorite Manhattan hospital" where all of us have spent more than our fair share of time worrying about him in the past 5 years, and he has done more than enough suffering.

The word. "Stroke" came up, , which at my Dad's age, is 100 times worse than anyone younger who suffered it.

Then, a call, from a good friend, who helps my Dad and his wife.

"Your father is home, and resting"

No 3 am calls, so far, Thank God.

Hopefully, all is okay.

I will be checking in at a reasonable hour today.

Sigh! Any thoughts or support would be appreciated

Thanks.

I saw my Dad twice since this incident , on Friday and Saturday.

This morning, my Dad's wife called me again, and told me he had bad symptoms, but not to come up.

If he had been taken to the ER or put in the hospital, I know I would have been called.

My Dad is supposed to have an "Elective" foot procedure tomorrow, to supposedly remove a boot that he has on.

So much has gone on, I forgot the details.

Hopefully, they will take care of that.

I have an eye Dr appt that I cannot cancel because this Dr is very hard to get an appt with,

Hopefully, God willing, whatever they have to do to my Dad will turn out okay.

Its enough already

My thoughts are with you and your family as you deal with this crisis

I went through a very similar experience not long ago. The family got together for dad's 85th birthday. All was ok.

A few weeks later I called and he was in the middle of something like a stroke.

I hope your father takes a turn for the better.

Thanks, I really appreciate the thoughts.

We will see what tomorrow brings.

Right now, all is quiet.

Sometimes, they say. "No news is good news"

I'm hopeful that is true

My Dad had to go to a GI Dr.

Thank God, it was nothing serious. My Dad said it was a long, unpleasant virus.

At 85 years old, I breathe a huge sigh of relief, and I'm sure so does my Dad, and the rest of our family.

Merry Christmas to all
