Please forgive me if someone has asked this question before but I am just curious about this subject even though I am not a twin. When it comes to twins, is one twin more ticklish than the other? It doesn't matter if their identical or fraternal. This question is mainly for people who are either twins or know twins. Looking forward to replies.

i know some twins, i used to know 2 sets of twins really well, one set I don't know anymore, but that one set that I did know they were both very ticklish and even had the same most ticklish spot like twins should lol..

the other set, I'm still really good friends with and they seem to have about the same ticklishness to me.

I'm not sure if that's a twin thing though or if it's just dumb luck that both of the sets of twins i know where the same ticklishness...

My little sisters are twins and they both are somewhat ticklish, but one of them laughs and the other just gets pissed. I have no idea if they still are.

Twins do have strange connections at times, but I don't think this is one of them.

yeah i suppose you're probably right, twins can have the same amount of ticklishness, and they could have the same most ticklish spot, but that's probably not a twin thing, they'd probably have that same ticklish spot if they weren't twins. but of course it could be because they're twins.. we should go gather all the twins and tickle them to see if most of them have the same ammount of ticklishness and the same tickle spot, it could be fun 😛

There was a pair of twin sisters in my high school class and they differed greatly: One boasted that she was not ticklish at all and she used that fact to tickle her sister all the time without fear of retaliation. The ticklish sister acknowledged that it was true and she had never succeeded in making her sister laugh.

I have little of relevance to contribute to this thread, but I do offer this idea - identical twins, tied up together, for a TK video. That would be so fantastic.

I would imagine that monozygotic twins are both equally ticklish and dizygotic twins can vary.

I would find it hard to believe that two twins with the same genetic make-up would vary in terms of ticklishness, unless their exposure to tickling at a very young age was so wildly different. Of course, where twins have different genetic make up, then I'm sure ticklishness can vary.

well here's something that I wasn;t aware of

Monozygotic twins,, or more commonly referred to as identical twins, begin life as one egg, which becomes fertilized by one sperm and splits in to two eggs early in the gestational period. Identical twins are very rare, have no hereditary link and are almost always of the same gender (boy/boy or girl/girl). Less than one-third of live twin births are identical.
A little known fact is the physical similarities of identical twins depend on how soon the embryo splits after fertilization. The embryo splits very early on during pregnancy, most often within the first 12 days. An embryo that splits before day 4 will result in identical twins who appear much in the same way as fraternal twins, there could be very little physical similarity betw. In this case, a zygosity test may be needed to confirm the babies' identical status. A split between days four to eight will result in the babies sharing the same sac, making it easier to determine zygosity. Once the embryo reaches day 8 to 12 and splits during this timeframe, then the 'seeing double' effect takes place, resulting in twins who are very similar in appearance. Embryos splitting on or after the 12th day will most likely result in conjoined twins.

Dizygotic twins, or fraternal twins, begin life as two eggs fertilized by two separate sperm. The eggs are usually fertilized at 2 separate times during ovulation, but the time interval is very close. Dizygotic twins are the most common type of twin birth, with over two-thirds of live twin births being fraternal, especially with the increased use of fertility drugs, which almost always result in a fraternal twin pregnancy. Fraternal twins may be of the same sex or mixed-gendered, have strikingly similar appearance or look nothing alike, as in the case of my fraternal twins. And, yes, it is possible that fraternal twins can be fathered by sperm of two different men.

By the time an expectant mother has had her first ultrasound, her doctor should be able to discern whether the twins are in separate sacs or share a sac

It comes from some crappy women's magazine article on the internet, but it sounds accurate to me and believable.

Perhaps ticklishness is an indicator of the date at which the zygote split for monozygotic twins.

I know a pair of twins were one has extremely ticklish feet and barley ticklish stomach whilst the other has an extremely ticklish stomach and barley ticklish feet. So they are as ticklish as eachother just diffrent places. However not all twins would be the same ticklish as every twin has differances and that could be one of them!
Hope that helped....

maybe that's why the twins i know seem to be the same ammount of ticklish and the same most ticklish spot.. they were identical, I think that's all I've ever known lol..

That would be fun if we could really gather up all the twins and tickle them to see if they have the same amount of ticklishness in the same tickle spot, that would be fun :xpulcy:. I doubt that would really happen though.

:couch:

would one twin be as good of a ler as the other? thats an interesting side to it also...
