Tying Advice Needed

Hi all, just trying to hit everyone up for some advice if anyone can help. My girlfriend and I both enjoy bondage for tickling as well as for other things as well. Here is my problem. I need help on how to tie wrists so that she can stay tied for a longer period of time. The other night I tried putting her in a hogtie, but had to release her wrists in a matter of a few minutes because her hand started to turn purple. Obviously my tie was too tight. I've tried other ways of tying her and all seem to come to the same result, having to let her out before either of us is really ready. If someone can share with me a technique where her wrists would be loose enough to stay safe, yet still be secure so she can’t get out, I would greatly appreciate it. It doesn’t seem to be as big a problem when I tie her wrists separately, for example to the headboard, but mainly when tying them together the circulation problems occur. Again if anyone can help I greatly appreciate it.
 
Sports Cuffs

Use velcro sports cuffs with a chainlink in between if you want them tied together. They don't hurt and you can attach the middle chain to something else. Good luck.

Or use leather cuffs with a buckle.

If you look at some of the pictures where people are tied up using ropes, the rope is looped round many times, probably quite loosely with a vertical loop pulling the horizontal loops tighter. I think that's how it works anyway.

I haven't tried it myself so don't know how good it is though.
 
Padded leather cuffs can be firm without cutting off circulation or hurting.
 
Well Id like to say thanks for the ideas so far.

If any others have any ideas please Im still looking for any help I can get. I definitley will look into the cuffs recommendations I have gotten so far. I just wonder if anyone knows how to tie wrists and ankles with ropes though without cutting off the circulation?

Im sure cuffs will work (thanks for that comment, I didnt even think of them), but its just that the look of a woman tied with just ropes is so sexy to me. If nobody knows how to tie that way safely though, I definitley will use the cuffs over causing possible harm to my girl.

As said above: use more rope. The more times you circle the rope around her wrists/ankles, the looser they can be without risking her getting away.

I wish I could just show you lol. Do somewhat loose figure eights around her ankles/wrists with the rope, then tie that middle part together with the rest of the rope, and knot it on top.
 
You should make sure you're using knots that can't tighten on themselves when she struggles. The trick is to make sure that the rope passes through the loop holding her wrists, rather than only around them. I'm not great at describing what this means, but I'm sure one of our resident bondage experts can explain it better, and/or point you to some diagrams.

I'm not sure if I'm right about this, but doesn't NEST this year have some workshops and things on tying up. Surely there will be an expert for you to ask if not a demonstration on how to do it properly.

The hogtie is a difficult position in general, both to tie and to be tied in. There are ways to make it less stressful, but they aren't really straightforward.

If you simply want to tie wrists and/or ankles together, that's pretty simple. Try this site for info. The first tutorial is a "basic wrist tie" that works equally well on ankles.

The basic idea with a double-limb tie (such as wrists or ankles together) is several wrapping turns tied just barely snug around both limbs, then a couple of cinching turns around the wraps, between the limbs. It's the cinching turns that actually tighten it down, and you tighten it just until your partner says it's right. Then you tie a non-slip knot such as a square knot to lock it in place, and you're done.

Redmage has singled out the best rope work ideas that solve the issue that you are having.The images he sent you to are a solid start point. Let me add some words to show why it's done as shown.

The problem of pressure points comes from the ties directly tightning down on the wrists or legs. The solution is to not tie directly about them. You will tighten the bounds indirectly.

Take your length of rope (and make sure it's good and long) and double it over on itself to make a double rope with a 'U' at one end, and two loose ends at the other. Then lay it across the limbs you plan to bind, such that equal amounts are on each side of the pair of limbs. The reason we folded the rope over is that two lengths of rope form a wider surface then one. By doing that we mitigate the dig into the skin if we'd gone with just a single cord. More surface area = less pressure on the bound persons limbs.

Now taking one end of the doubled rope, start to make a figure eight pattern about the limbs. Repeat with the other end weaving in and out. You'll be creating a figure eight pattern. You are building cuffs this way.

Eventully you'll end up with both limbs having snug cuffs of rope about them, and a thick band of rope between the limbs you are joining. Now you take your remaining ends of rope, and loop about that center band. Here is when you go for tight. By cinching down on that band you will tighten the ropes about the limbs to a nice snugness. But as the pressure is not direct, the bond can stay on for longer. The rope takes all the tightning pressure, not the limbs.

Once you have that center band looped to your liking, use the two loose ends of the rope and the loop to tie it off so it stays tight.

And there you have it, a comfortable, longer time bondage.

It takes a bit of practice to get them to work well, and at first you will spend a lot of time doing the tie. But with practice it becomes second nature and you'll get frightingly quick. You'll get the idea as you do. Like sex you can see pictures of it a dozen times and understand, but until you get hands on practice you don't 'get' it.

Good luck! It's clear that you are paying solid attention to your partners state, and that's the key thing for such play. I think you'll do well.
