Tyson done

Melissa666 said:
Mike Tyson said he didnt have the heart after Buster Douglas KOed him that fateful night in Tokyo anymore. So that was Tysons reaction to losing his first fight? To the first guy who looked him back in the eye with no fear? Remember the bogus Douglas 10 count or whatever that was that HBO took apart piece by piece and showed that Douglas was merely down for 8 not 10 seconds? Thats Tyson! A crybaby! He wanted that guy to knock him down when he pushed him saturday so he could stay down. Muhammad Ali responded to his first loss with renewed determination to win back the title which he did. Tyson slept walked through nobodies, made excuses and bit people. Anyone who thinks Tyson is in the same league as Ali,Holmes, Frazier, Dempsey,Marciano, etc. is sorely mistaken.

I wonder if the fact that he won the fight in the 8th round effected him deeply psycologically. According to most historians, douglas was on the mat from 12-15 seconds

Tyson also did not have a chance to respond to the loss, 2 fights after, he was convicted of rape charges, which may or may have not really occured.

Then the same thing that happened to ali happened to tyson, years of not boxing made them rusty and not as great as they once were

and he will be remembered for all time in sports history

quite an honor

Actually my brother has a DVD about the Tyson/Douglas fight and it shows that the timekeeper began counting before Douglas' back hit the mat! Historians say he was on the mat for 10-15 seconds because they need something to write about. Anyway stuff like this only strengthens my point that boxing is not a legit sport. Bruce Seldon hit the mat like a ton of bricks after Tyson missed him with an uppercut, Sonny Liston flopped around the mat like a fish out of water from an Ali light jab and there are hundreds more. Ill say this pro-wrestling is filled with Doink the Clown, Duke the Dumpster and China but at least they admit its entertainment. Boxing is faker than wrestling by a long shot and I think more and more people are beginning to see it and give up on boxing. This girl included!

I have the tape on vhs from the day i recorded it, i still say it was a long count. Boxing is crooked cause of gambling

Funny, didnt know tribal face tats became big AFTER darth maul

People have gotten those type of tats for centuries

Maul comes from a long time ago and a galaxy far far away....therefore he was the first :weird:

Well you can say its a long count but all the more reason for Tyson and Douglas to have a steel cage match with Mike Foley as the special referee. Anyone who thinks that boxing is a legit sport like football, basketball or hockey is fucking nuts! I dont care if Douglas was down for a 10 minutes, he won period. Or do you have to win like in wrestling when the referee gets knocked out and the bad guys friend hit his opponent with a chair? Damn boxing is SO much like pro-wrestling its not even funny! In fact didnt Mike Tyson referee a match at a wrestlemania now that I do some research? A match made in heaven!

The count does matter, Jack Dempsey lost his famous fight in chicago to tunney cuz the ref had to keep dempsey back and tunney was down for 15 seconds, those things mean something

Buster douglas also reffed a match cuz tyson lost his match to him.
Dont base your wrestling comments on the garbage american product, if you look at japanese, mexican or even canadian wrestling, its not just entertainment, its treated as a sport. Vince is an asshole for allowing all the books and tv skits about "how we do it", to quote bobby heenan "Wrestling is dead, its lost its magic, they know how we do our tricks, who wants to see sigfried and roy when they know how the tiger dissapears"

But yeah, puroresu(japanese wrestling) is where its at, esp when u got guys shooting(not pulling their punches) for reasons of their own

Now thats interesting goodieluver. You are teaching me something now. You mean in Japan and in Mexico theres no Doink the Clowns or Undertakers? Also I agree with that Heenan guy that its lost whatever magic it had. These wrestlers today have reality shows on how they do the moves they do (I think it was called Tough Enough). I guess its all in the pursuit of making money. I hear theyre suffering for their crap now though because they did all that "this is how we do it" stuff a few years back and now WWF ratings are low and not a lot of people go see them when they perform without cameras like here in the arena where the Suns play it was half empty a friend told me. I guess that McMahon guy substituted short term gain for long term growth. I thought he was supposed to be this genius at making money though? I guess he was just riding a fad.

There are ofcourse the gimmick wrestlers, esp in mexico, in japan its not as blatant(keiji muto wrestles as himself and the great muta and terrifies me) Actually mcmahon stole the undertaker gimmick from Japan with Jinsei Shinzaki, known in america as hakushi. He dressed in all white(the japanese color of death) walked to the ring slowly in a white robe\hat monk like outfit and did what 'taker did which when he grabs the guys arm and walks the rope, only Jinsei would start at one corner and walk the entire ring rope back to start.

But japan takes it as a serious "Sport" so to speak, and it had as best i can describe as a ECW fan mentality but more mild mannered. Fans sat, fans WATCHED the match, there are no idiots tryin to be on tv and have a sign, they dont run to the guardrail tryin to touch them. They sit and watch and applaud ferociously when something amazing happens. My only problem i ever had with ecw was the "you fucked up" chants, wrestlers are performing best they can and one mess up gets that.

Lucha is like religion in mexico, i dont know now but back in the day, the wrestlers wore their masks at all times in the public, and it was not uncommon for them to be on tv shows\movies and be wearing the masks

I am disgusted with that reality show, no talent garbage get pretty much a free shot, and its the typical....6"4, muscled, good face, etc etc. My friend and i spent several years at 2 wrestlin organizations in the midwest and all we got was wasted time and he got sued by em.

Mcmahon doesnt have ECW to steal idea's from now, now he's forced to try to do somethin origional and cant.

As much as I'd like to see Tyson as a wrestler,I do'nt think he has the brains for it.Wrestlers are like stuntmen who have to go non-stop and live.It also takes great technical skill to put on such a great show and not injure themselves or their opponents.Tyson is controlled by his bloodthirsty instincts, this would be bad in the wrestling ring.

However, he would be a riot in his interviews...
"Yo Batista,I'm gonna eat yo children!!!"

For celebrities like him, he wouldnt go all the time, just a once or twice a month match.

Tyson was rumored to fight bob sapp in K1 or Pride i forget but i think that was bullflop
