UK BBB TICKLING DEMO - MAY 17th! We need your support!

On the 17th of May Alphano, totally_evil, BOFH666, litio and myself have been asked to put on a tickling demo at the BBB (Birmingham Bizarre Bazaar) in, well, Birmingham (England, not Alabama - sorry Alabama ticklephiles!). Aside from spending the next few weeks going through underwear at an unhealthy rate this basically means that we're going to get about 30 - 45 minutes to put on a show that entertains and educates a crowd of over a hundred that are into a wide range of fetishes about tickling and our community.

The demo itself starts at 1:30 on the top floor of the BBB venue and will feature (at this point in time anyway) the five of us. We're still working out the exact details but there'll be a bit of a show, a demo of tickling tools, techniques etc and a Q & A.

This is a great way to promote the tickling community to the wider fetish world and to get more people thinking about tickling as a fetish. There's going to be between a hundred and two hundred people watching so we'd like as many people as possible to come along and give your support. It's hard to put into words how reassuring it is to look into a sea of faces, including some of the most experienced fetish players in the UK, and see friendly tickling enthusiasts smiling back.

The BBB starts at 11:00 and costs £5 for admission. There's a great range of vendors these days and it covers everything from toys and bondage gear to clothing and shiny things. We'll be up in the canteen on the first floor until 12-ish probably drinking more tea than is strictly good for us and if anyone feels a bit nervous about coming to the BBB I'm sure we can help show you around if you come early enough.

Afterwards we'll be running the semi-regular Birmingham munch just over the road in the local Weatherspoons so this is a fantastic chance to come along, meet a load of interesting people and have a great time safe and secure in the knowledge that no matter what you WON'T be the most nervous one there!

So please, if at all possible, come along. This is a massive step forward for the UK tickling scene, and it'd be great to really make it a day to remember!

Well, we had the first proper rehersal last weekend and it's starting to take shape. Bloody tricky mind trying to come up with something that's both a good show AND an informative demo. Hopefully we've got something that'll work although for any that may turn up please bear in mind we're all first time demo'ers so this is al new to us as well! That said, having two gorgeous near-naked women on stage at all times will probably help matters

If you possibly can make it please do, we're gonna need all the support we can get and it would be fantastic to see a huge turnout!

Hey all,

well that was... interesting. Doing a demo in front of a couple of hundred fetish fans who don't necessarily 'get' tickling is a bit of a nerve wracking experience but it went very well indeed, far better than we could have hoped. It was the first time any of us had done anything like that and that makes it very difficult indeed to get a feel for if what you're going to present will work. Incredibly positive vibes coming from everyone afterwards though with the BBB demo organiser giving us a MAJOR pat on the back (not to mention a 'will be back' comment to the room at large straight after the demo) and we only had about ten people leave during the demo - something which is pretty darn rare for the BBB. Personally I'd put that down to having two gorgeous near-naked models on stage (and a half naked Italian as well... brave boy Litio) but there you go 😉

What surprised me is that we got a fair few 'volunteers' afterwards (one willing, three subs taken up there by their doms which was good for a chuckle) and all of 'em were very very ticklish and, I think anyway, enjoyed themselves. There seems to be a general groundswell of support at the moment which we'll do our best to encourage and build on but regardless of what happens in future I just want to say thank you. Thank you to those who did the demo. Thank you to those who came along to fly the metaphorical flag. And thank you to EVERYONE who'd been an active part of this community in the UK over the last five and a bit years. It's thanks to each and every one of you that we have chances such as these and hopefully we'll just see bigger and better things coming down the line in future.

The next major event in the UK is likely to be the summer gathering in August. We've got a dungeon booked in Walsall and we were told today that the owner of said dungeon is currently modifying the rack to include a set of stocks at one end, complete with loops for tying back toes. It was certainly interesting...I had a bit of a WTF moment when BOFH whipped out the power tools, bit it was a good laugh, so to speak.

(For those what are wondering, two quid hand held food mixer with a couple of paintbrushes where the beaters normally go... surprisingly effective and robost. Just don't try it with feathers, go above the first speed setting and it's like you put a pigeon in a blender)
