So what if kids see a bit of porn.
It's not exactly like people just happen to stumbleupon (pun intended) porn on the internet. You find porn by looking for it, therefore, the kids who see it were looking for it in the first place. Either set up a adult filter on your pc (easily done) or just watch what you're kids are searching for.

Yes! Very true. Kids will find some sort of porn no matter what. I remember when I was a young teen and me and my friends would put our money together to buy cheap 'lad's mags'! The sort that have football, fashion, cars and BOOBS!

As you can see from the link above, the UK government wants to block all porn and then set an "opt - in" method of derestricting access the porn, the argument from the other side is that this is impossible due to the variety of porn on the internet, I wonder if this site would be blocked for example.

Thanks for posting this, in 2004 or 2005 a woman was strangled with a pair of tights (uk speak) pantyhose (usa) and it came out the person responsible had been looking up porn on the internet.

Another woman started a campaign against violence being used in porn on the net, and as a result in about 2007 it came about that a person running or owning a website could not illustrate any violent actions and imply any violent actions in fantasy or actual content, for entertainment.

As you wrote this post i was asking a site manager about a pic i had, and couldn't find the set or clip relating to it, and wanted to trace it, with two girls wrestling and tearing clothes off,and he told me since the law changed in 2007 and the pics ended up with one girl strangling the other (in fantasy of course) he had to delete them all from his server.I think about 4 people have been brought to justice since the law change, in the whole uk.

So this time round we have another campaigner so it remains to be seen if the law will change, i think it will be gradual and may take two years.

But there are things with the knife laws that the labour party put in that the tories have now done a u turn on so its anyones guess and those laws are more serious.

The cut backs don't seem to get rid of the pc and red tape but cut into vital services, so would there be the man power and money to monitor the isp's and check if they did comply would it be feasable to impliment the change.

I accept we need some control but i feel we are loosing our choice and freedom, having said that while i like soft porn, some of the hard porn stuff on the net is very bloodthisty and violent and this side of it needs a bit of control,but soft porn may be osscene to some i would not like much more control.

Its up to the individual i mean some people can be influenced by my undies on the washing line,i a mean it could corupt and its only brigette jones type gear.( ther rest stays in doors 🙂🙂 )

Even the scene from hitchcocks psyco is illegal here if its displayed out of context for entertainment.

I think we need to keep an eye on things and hope websites, isp's lobby and get partioning see if we can get a sensible balance.

I can't see the fairness doctrine, even though it was here already. Fox News and talk radio will be all over it, they are very strong now. They will just continue putting down the media outlets they don't agree with with mass ad campaigns, also CNN and MSNBC attacking Fox News and visa versa.

This shit's been happening since the agricultural revolution. Find something the people want (or need) and restrict access to it. Who believes slavery was ever abolished? Nowadays we have money instead of chains, but it still amounts to the same thing.
The saddest thing is that if they want porn blocked you can bet your ass it will eventually be blocked. This is likely just a warning shot, but could quite possibly be followed up by months, or even years, of propaganda until it eventually becomes socially unnaceptable to even voice an opinion against it. Think of the smoking ban - they had the masses believing (even ardent smokers) that they were bad people for doing so. It became almost taboo to even object to a smoking ban - "OMG, smoking means you hate children!!!" Regardless of whether you're pro-smoking or anti-smoking, this is just another example of chipping away at our civil liberties, and it isn't going to stop. It matters not what we all think about porn today, tomorrow it could be so twisted as to leave any of us scared to defend it.
Think about it, and just hope their attention turns elsewhere so someone else's civil liberties are chipped away and not yours. No need to care then is there? See how easily they could get the job done.

I think you have hit the nail on the head, or on spot as they say in the usa, a girl i know says "work is just refined slavery" she could be right.

The capaign by a young actress whose brother was knifed brought about a change in the law during the labour parties rule.

Now the tories are going to reverse that situation and thats serious crime.

Yet porn and the internet industry in general seems to be a priority for the tories to take part in, last months coputer active magazine pictured the PM talking about the copyright laws.

We have homeless, jobless, the countries future(students) riots over thier education fees, i doubt if they will stay in uk, cuts, even more red tape, wars, and what do they talk about reforming the internet.
Sometime i feel its like being in a made house where the inmates have taken over.
