Underarms or Armpits??? What should they be called?

Good Afternoon All,

i'm at work bored out of my mind, and thinking about a conversation i had via text message last night with a good friend of mine. i think i'm able to convince her to tie me and down and work me over with tickling, and some other things.

she asked where i was ticklish..and i told her to guess....naturally she said, feet, sides, neck.

i then told her that my underarms are very ticklish too. and perhaps my most ticklish spot. she replyed back asking if underarms are the same as armpits.

i've seen many posts for videos and such on TMF with members referring to them as underarms rather than armpits.

I myself didn't start calling them underarms until a few months back. i feel that armpits is a more nasty word and wouldn't make a tickler wanna tickle you under your arms. am i the only one that feels this way???

Armpits isn't a nasty word.

Underarms is a bit more eloquent, I guess.

They're both kinda the same, though.

Same thing to me, underarms just seems more formal. Other than on this site I've never encountered anyone who called them underarms though.

i agree. i don't know what it is, but i think underarms sounds better. like a lot of you, i've never heard other people use the word "underarms" other than on this site

Agreed, which is why I paid a bit of attention to those Dove "armpits to underarms in 7 days" commercials last year.

Of those two, I prefer "underarms" myself, but why limit yourself to just those options? People have come up with countless monikers for other portions of their anatomy. Why not make up your own names?:

Valleys of Laughter,
Hollows of Hysteria,
Dales of Delight,
Fingerbowls...

For years I used the phrase, 'under my arms'. I now say, underarms. It's hard to refer to anything on our bodies as a pit.

in my mind i've always associated underarms with women and armpits with men. i have no idea why it's just what i do.

I suppose women generally take better care of theirs than us guys. Makes a certain amount of sense, when you think about it.
