Well people I was laid off my job in the middle of June and have been looking for work ever since. If any of you been unemployed in the past and have you noticed how differently people treat you than when you were employed? Anyway your thoughts would be appreciated and thanks in advance for any replies. 🙁

When I first registered here, I was holding on by my fingernails by temping. I had a miserable data entry job at night, at some half-assed company in a rough neighborhood, making diddly. As a temp, you're even less than nothing, you're lower than the toilet paper stuck to the floor in the bathrooms.

I hope you find a real job, and soon. There's nothing worse than being a temp.

I was a temp in the UK at the biggest and oldest British Credit Card company. The way Barclaycard treated its temporary staff was just appalling, and when I stuck up for those staff, I was dismissed (being a temp myself). At least I was going back to Uni and didn't want/need the job.

Sorry to hear that you are currently unemployed. I have been unemployed twice, the first time was not too bad as I had a bit of redundancy money to use, but the second time was not so good, no money and I was out of work a lot longer. I found having little or no money forced my own exclusion from society. What I ended up doing was returning to college and doing a number of courses. That improved how I thought about myself, and I got the feeling that people respected me more for doing something.

Just hang on in there, as I am sure you will be working again soon.

Good luck.

Thanks for your words of encouragement guys. Yes I'm trying to think positive and hopefully I will find work soon. Again thanks for your replys.

Unemployment absolutely blows!!!!!!!!

I was out of work over a year. I didn't make a dime in 2004 even though I worked at four jobs. I finished school and got my degree in December. I got my present job January 05. And they're starting to really get on my nerves. I just wish I could work from home and not deal with workplace drama and politics!! :ranty:

Well, back to you-I hope you find work soon. I do know how you feel. What type of work do you do? There are a lot of people on this forum who do a lot of different jobs. Maybe you may get a job lead or an idea.

I wish you well. Don't ever give up.

I JUSt got laid off on Tuesday, wtih no warning (Kis knows abou this) And here I am hosting the N. TX Gathering in Sept. We have a big video project coming up soon... www.fatmanwalking.com ...... but until this project wraps, that's it for me. No words or deep thoughts, just heavy sighs.

I feel your pain. I was laid off recently myself. To make matters worse, I had suffered an on the job injury. Things are better now, but still no new job. I know things will turn around eventually, for both me and everybody else here who has been laid off... but I agree that it sucks. Hang in there. You have our full support.

What the hell!!!!!!! Looks like everyone is gettin the good ol dildo in the ass. I just got laid off on Friday! This is very ironic to see this post and see a few others as well has had the same thing happen to them. But to the original poster..yes I do know what u mean in a way. (Here i go again with my society is shit speech again lol)..the common people of socciety are so hung up on "what do u do for a living?" its like what the fuck does that matter? Does that make me any better or less of a person depending on what job im doin? Even back when I was proud and happy of what I did for a living (when i used to be a DJ), if people non family asked "the question" id respond with the same thing.."does it really matter??".

All I can say is im with ya and I forsaw my lay off comin and have been lookin for other work ever since I suspected (prob bout a month) and unfortunatly where im at in the boon docks of Arizona...employment is pretty hard to find. So im a bit stressed, disgusted, pissed off etc as well. Just do what im doin which is keep lookin, keep dropin aplications, resumes or what have you..and dont give up. Life sucks and its all a test to see how far we can be pushed. A friend of mine taught me a motto and ive gone with it for about 3-4 months now..ya gotta laugh to keep from cryin...and its sooo true, ya gotta find humor in all the bad things life throws at ya..cuz there always is some somewhere..no matter how shitty 🙂 So keep your head up my friend, things will work out for you.
