Unfair Moments In Elementary School

Any job, any group, there's at least one....

When I was in 1st grade I took 2 caterpillars in to school for show and tell (what a lame show and tell, right?). Anyway, I did my show and tell thing, and then I asked my teacher if I could set them free out the window. She said no, which made sense considering we were on the third floor, and that I could set them free at recess. Well, recess came and I couldn't find my caterpillars anywhere! The container I brought them in was gone. We looked all over, but couldn't find them. I was so upset 🙁

Fast forward a few weeks, and guess what we found -- my fucking caterpillars, in the container, DEAD, in the piano seat This little bastard, Edward, put them in there to hide them from me, and I guess he forgot about them and they died in there. I was absolutely devastated!

Not really "unfair" exactly, but traumatic nonetheless.

People are mean assholes too often 🙁

Seen this too often

....Fastforward to a few years ago, I was teaching an art camp with a handful of other instructors. One woman was an art teacher for elementary students and so we all felt right away she would be the person to consult for how to teach and react to these kids. That is until she opened her mouth. Everyone else continued to listen to her and find how she treated the kids quite acceptable, but she was the kind of bitch I HATE as a teacher. One of the little girls in the program was walking over to ask me for some art supplies she needed. Her shoe bumped into the woman's chair that she was sitting in.

The woman replied, "Um EXCUSE ME. Do you think you could maybe watch where you're walking and not run into my chair? You keep doing it and I find it really annoying. THANKS." And as a kid, what can you possibly say to that? It was EXTREMELY bitchy, but if you argue back, you're the kid that's an asshole that causes trouble. All she could do was look at her, then look down and walk away. Good lord some people need some mental help intervention.

I had a teacher like that in middle school -- they don't realize we grow up. And vote on the school budget 😀

Most teachers are underpaid, but a few screw with the system to get tenure & abuse it.
