I CAN'T STAND when a model waits till the last minute then doesn't show for the shoot. I rearranged my entire day, asked to get off work early, and an hour before the shoot she cancels because her roommate had an emergency and took her car plus she was at dance class. BS. GRRRRRRR!!

When anybody wastes your time or costs you money by not showing up for an appointment then you have a right to be pissed off.

(Obviously, not if they had a genuine emergency such as their mother was hit by a truck and is in the hospital.)

Not the first time it happened.. but the first time I rearranged my day and work schedule to fit a shoot in. I even double checked with her twice during the day before I asked to get off early.

No doubt. That's what drove me stop trying to produce when I lived in Ohio.

Its friggin' awful. Even had a professional model do that after I drove 3 hours to get to Cleveland.

I feel your pain. Even me being a brand new producer only having a few shoots under my belt have gotten screwed over more times than I can count. Worse than the excuses, is the models that set up a shoot with you, call you in the morning to confirm, then never show up and stop answering their phone and e-mail. That's what really pisses me off to holy hell. LOL.

Yup. Plenty no call/no show models over the years. Sucks, but that's the nature of this stuff.

It happens quite frequently when it's only about a simple photoshooting...so I would imagine it happens twice as often when it comes to producing a fetish vid! 🙂

Don't sweat it, over time as a producer you figure out what works for you long term.

We don't have near this problem that we used to because I'm anal and take a lot of precautions to protect my time. But it was definitely an irritation when I was starting out. Especially when I was driving across state lines in those days to make shoots (if you look at a map of the western US, trips across state lines can take a day or two of drive time). So I can empathize!

But it does get better once you have a system worked out. This last shoot, we had 12 models booked, and 3 were no-shows. And honestly, two of those three that didn't show up I could care less about (after awhile you know who people will tend to like and people won't like). So it turned out alright. Better than alright, actually, one of the no-shows led us to "kidnap" Amanda off the street.

That must be so irritating! How do you handle it afterwards? Like do you send them a message saying not to bother getting in contact again or something?
