Yesterday, White House guards turned a man away because he wanted to hand deliver a letter to the President. They told him to use the Postal Service. Unhappy with the reception, the middle-aged Middle Eastern man poured a flammable substance on his jacket and set himself on fire. Secret Service quickly pushed the man to the ground and extinguished the flames. He was taken to Washington Hospital Center where it is believed he will recover. They found no explosives on his person or belongings.
 
Given that he had a flammable substance and matches or a lighter with him, it is just as well that he was turned away.
