Interesting point how most conventional "kinksters" don't even think of tickling, which I find rather amusing.

The fact that they consider it "weird" is what sets us slightly apart from many in the BDSM community, which is pretty cool. It makes me feel special 🙄

The one non-TMF friend that I told about it (and showed the website and my stories) said, roughly, "whatever makes you happy, as long as it's with consenting adults." 😀
 
I've only told my wife - and she would definitely be considered vanilla (but honestly, other than tickling, I'd probably be as well).

It took 11+ years of marriage for her to finally allow me to intentionally tickle her as a prelude to sex. She hates being tickled and derives no pleasure other than her pleasing me by letting me do it.

However, to the point of the post, she didn't really get upset when I told her - she just didn't allow me to do it right away (and she finally understood the extent of my love of tickling 5 years ago).

Compromise isn't always giving in - its about working together.

I've always had positive reactions. My ex found out when she noticed my arousal when we would tickle each other and asked "does tickling turn you on?!:woot:" She was really interested in it and supported it a lot. The only other offline person I've told was a girl at work while we were dating. It come out during a discussions about what turned us on and she was cool with it.

A bunch of people from a non tickling forum know about it from discussions in a chat room, though again the main topic was fetishes. No negative reactions, but it's hard to tell online,lol.

I realize a lot of that didn't count as Vanilla reactions....but oh well.

Actually, yeah, saying "I get turned on by tickling" is a lot more innocuous for most people than "I belong to a tickling fetish community where there's a message board with long erotic tickling stories and people fly long distances to annual gatherings to tickle each other in group with bondage equipment."
 
I've never really told that many people of my tickling fetish unless fetishes actaully come up.

The few friends I've told have much more kink in their fetishes, so I'm actually the vanillia one in the group lol.

I only told one GF of mine about my fetish, only because she was the only one who was open enough in the bedroom to talk to it about. *sighs* Florida has such conservation people in it...

I tickled her now and then, and when I told her it was a fetish of mine she just said, "Ohhhh... that explains all of that." She had no problem with it, and actaully tried her best to play along with it. Wonderful gal, but wasn't really into it, oh well.

I have only told one person, my current girlfriend of 6 months.
