This question is for all the producers out there. Is Microsoft Movie Maker proficient enough for editing tickling clips? Any suggestions on the editing software that you guys use? Thank you!!!

Robert

Yes.

TBH, nobody gives a shit about how well your clips are edited. They're too busy fapping over the models.

All you need to worry about is whether or not all of the extraneous crap like futzing with the camera or taking a break is left on the cutting room floor.

Hi Dt,

I use NCH "Videopad Video Editor", you can download a free trial (of the full software) from their website. It is very good and will play/allow editing of may formats (Mpeg, WMV, AVI, MP4, etc). Features include; video speed (slow down, speed up and play backwards), zoom in/out and pan, all the usual filters like scepia, hune, contrast, pixilate, B&W, old film, sharpen, etc. You can add subtitles, insert pictures as an overlay or background, edit the sound including samples, sound effects and music track overlay. It also includes transition options like; fade in/out, pixilate, fade to (any colour or pic), etc. Blank screen (in many colours or as a picture), and so on.........

Once downloaded i think it was a 30 day free full trial, after which you can buy it or downgrade to the free version, which is still pretty good tbh. Give it a go and see what you think, in the mean time i will use some free samples from the TMF to put something together so you can see whats possible with a bit of time and effort!

Good luck.

Here as promised is a very small example of what you can achieve with Videopad. The clip is short (only about 30 seconds) due to the upload limits within the TMF, many thanks to the owners(s) of the sample clips used  right, enough talk, here it is:

Good luck Dt

Depends what you're planning on doing with the video. For fappable material I reckon movie maker is fine. For work (and for other video production) I use Adobe Premiere Pro, but I guess it depends on what functionality you're looking for.

For basic editing and cutting scene's windows movie maker will do just fine. However, if you have to add small details that will make you stand out like color correction, reducing camera shake, then you'd have to go with Adobe Premier Pro, After effects. If you're on a Mac, Final Cut pro (anything lower than 10 because 10 is garbage).

It is not enough.
I suggest you to use some of these software:
Movavi
Corel Videostudio
Cyberlink PowerProducer
Adobe Premiere

Try them, and choose the one you like the most. They give you truly control over the video, great effects, corrections, filters, sound filters, and a lot of possibilities to encode the video in a lot of formats.

They are from $60 USD I think, Adobe Premiere is the most expensive one.

I recommend you to deliver your video in mp4 H.264; as it is basically the today's standard for itnernet videos, as it the most advanced technology in video encoding, with highest quality at lowest size.

Also, use some accesories, as VLC videolan player, to watch your videos.

Personally, I'd suggest that any editor is fine as long you can get on with it. Although I personally never liked Movie Maker, it does all you need for basic editing in a free program - you can do cuts and fades between shots, overlay text etc and then output in various formats. I found the earlier versions clearer and more straightforward to use, but the newer version supports the AVCHD format used by most portable HD camcorders nowadays and it enables editing and output of 720p video. If you are using Mac, then iMovie is the equivalent program and is virtually the same.

If you are unfamiliar with editing then these programs are a good way to learn and get started. It's true that you can't do more advanced editing but to be honest, in a tickling video you don't really need to! The main drawback with them is that you can't introduce precise trims or fades into individual video/audio events or takes, which could be limiting but are not the end of the world. You can perform basic correction and cleaning up/adjustment of audio and video. The other effects that get packaged with many cheap editors (film grain/zoom/sepia etc) are things which are rarely used in videos (and they lessen the quality) and are more for having fun with - you can do most of these with MM and iMovie anyway.

More professional programs such as Vegas Pro, Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro (for Mac) are all great but take time to learn, and are very heavy on system resources. They are also very costly - Adobe Premiere is about £500/$799. I always use Vegas and Premiere but I mainly use the light version of Vegas for tickling clips (as it's much faster and lighter) and only use Premiere for more mainstream work, where I need more control of levels, filters etc. Everyone has their preferences but I'd say it's better to start light and work up, rather than the other way around...just my opinion though!

If you know how to use that then do it! I like MMM but is hard to make good quality 35 min videos on there, it gets complicated. I do not have enough RAM for that.
