what does everybody here own?

My list:

Playstation 1
Playstation 2
xbox
pc (Don't really use that for gaming though)

I'm sorta boring. I've got an N64 with only a handful of games. We used to be able to play it a lot before my daughter was born but now it isn't even hooked up. I'd like a Playstation because I like the Tony Hawk games but I wouldnt really have that much time to play.
Actually...
My dream is to buy an old Super Nintendo.
*sings*
"meeeeemoriiiieeeessss......in the corner of my miiiiind....."

mad systems

i got ps2, ps, sega genesis, super nintendo, NES, gameboy, game gear, gameboy advanced, and i think Atari

I have Nintendo, Super Nintendo, N64, Gamecube, Sega Genesis, Sega Saturn, Sega Dreamcast, Game Gear, Playstation, Playstation 2, Game Boy, Game Boy Color, Game Boy Advance (though, I guess you would just count those as one...) and I use PC for gaming, too.

I have an SNES emulator but I cant get the sound to work properly 🙁

Atari (had one)
Nintendo (had one)
Super Nintendo
Game Boy Color
Sega Genesis
Sega CD (one of my favorites)
Sega 32X
Game Gear
Playstation
Playstation 2

On a personal note, the Sega CD was an excellent system, and it was the first real drive into cd games rather than cartridges (in Japan it was called the Mega CD). The only reason the Sega CD did not last as long as it could have is because of the time schedule. They released the system too soon and with too few games to back it up, so it fell behind in the race and eventually became discontinued, but not before it produced some really great games that are classics now. It is my opinion that the system would have lasted much longer and Sega would have toppled Nintendo. The Sega CD at the time was the best system on the market. Nothing Nintendo had could compete with it, and combining the 32X and Sega Genesis to the Sega CD made for a triple unit system that would have easily kept it dominant even up to when the Sega Saturn and Playstation came out. You'd be pleasantly surprized with what this system can do, given its age and status now as a relic.

The Sega CD set the stantard for the next generation consoles.

Thanks BBR! I'm going to bug hubby again about getting me an SNES for my birthday which isn't until May. Hopefully by then he'll get around to getting me one since I was asking for one LAST year on my birthday AND the year before that!
It's not like they're expensive...but you add some games, controlers, the gun, etc...it adds up. Ahhh nostalgia though!
I saw on tv that you can get adapters to plug in SNES controls into your computer which would be AWESOME if I could get the sound for my emulators sorted out. I tried to play with no sound but it's just not right!

Edit: Sounds works now mysteriously! Yay! 😀

Anytime. your Welcome. lets hope your hubby gets you that Super Nintendo this year for your Birthday.....

and on a Side note: Your like the GODDESS of paint shop im shocked :wooha: i wish i could make my own Avatars and crap :sigh:

Ohh... good old consoles. I actually owned a Braun game system. It was a life ago... It ran games like pong. Hope you can contain your enthusiasm. 😉

Well, I owned some of the older... I actually played Threasure of Tarmin on the Intellivision.

I suppose this makes me the oldest poster on this thread.

...

Now I seldom play console game anymore. I usually resort to emulators for the nostalgia element.

Since I like isometric RPGs and turn-based strategy, my PC is better suited than most consoles.

Yet, I've seen some games from Square - namely Front Mission 1 and 3 - and those were QUITE good, especially considering the system limitats[namely poor savestate management, little mouse support, nil customization].

Too bad those titles will never reach PC market. Thanks to fansubbers I could see Front Mission 1 [on Snes] in english. It was REALLY good.

Oh, I must say the latest incarnation of Eye of the Beholder for GBA was refreshing, if technically lacking.

It reminded me of good old Pool of Radiance, just programmed for 3rd edition DnD.

Yeah, I used to be a pen and paper type, so I really like turn-based and the like. 🙂

Reg's!
