Ok. I am in no way a wrestling fan but it seems to be the one thing that my sons and my ex have in common, which means that its on tv here at the house. Today I got home from lunch and my sons were freaking over the car blast that supposidely killed Vince McMahon. They watched the "tribute" show last night and my youngest watched last night as he got into the limo and then the blast. My question is.....was this legit or was it another publicity stunt? I notice that the tributes were not friendly, and the way he was acting and the way it all went down it makes me wonder. The fact that he was "going the wrong way", the way he slowly walked to the car, the way he hesitated when he opened the car door (looking around), it makes me question what was really behind it. I know there are alot of wrestling fans on the forum and would be intrigued to hear what you all have to say about it.

Unfortunately, I fell asleep for about 20 minutes and missed it. It wasn't real though. It was all a part of the storyline. I'm not sure that they did it for publicity, but it's gotten some. I read on a website that a radio station reported his actual death and even gave condolences to his family. It was all fake though. You can visit these websites to read about it:

Thanks Tickle_Fiend05. I have to admit that they did a good job staging the stunt. My 13 yr old is still convinced that he died, trying to figure out how he would "come back". Maybe they can get some ideas from the soap opera writers.

It is a work(wrestling term for not real\planned)

The explosion was filmed the night before, this was confirmed by the fire dept there because they were swarmed by calls asking if mcmahon was ok, etc etc.

It is disgusting though they gave him a 10 bell salute, which is usually reserved for wrestlers who genuinely died.

He will come back in a few months, either sayin how he heroically survived or how he fooled everyone

I cannot believe anyone could think its real(anyone other than kids)

Isnt the first time he exploited death for ratings

Ya it did to me also...until I watched it again. You could almost tell it was staged by the way he walked out to the limo. He walked really slow staring at people. And then when he got to the limo...he stopped for a min or so looking around before he opened the door. At that point my gut feeling was that it was staged. Besides the fact that it wasn't in the national news. They did do a good job staging it though.

It was a real explosion but per the local paper

http://www.citizensvoice.com/site/news.cfm?newsid=18462342&BRD=2259&PAG=461&dept_id=455154&rfi=6

also, vince was seen backstage during the "ecw" show on tuessday which makes it even more vile and disgusting that he would have a 10 bell salute for himself when the son of a bitch didnt even die. The 10 bell salute is a tradition that has been done too many times for legends dieing genuinely.

Wrestling is just a big soap opera in so many ways...

Storylines are tacky and predictable, actors are of poor quality, and will do anything "sensational" for a ratings boost.

I liked the wrastling when i was kid back in the early 90's now it just sucks.

Unfortunetly, I'll tell you unfortunetly. The only thing unfortunet is the fact that it is probably fake. Vince McMahon is the Wrestling what Hitler was to Poland. He is a scumbag and a low life and I wish he and his entire family(minus the grand kids and daughter-in-law) would die in a plane crash. Was a carupt buntch of scum. People like them almost make me ashamed of my Irish back ground.

Even if he did die...

No McMahon, other then Vince's dad (Vince sr) should ever get a 10 bell salute. They are all bile, and death is what they deserve. Long Live TNA ( on spike tv at 9pm thursdays).

This is just a plot, in a storyline. Don't you think with people like Paris Hilton making headline news 24/7, a car bombing.... especially one that takes the life of a business tycoon would be made into headline news as well?

I see three possible reasons for this:

A. McMahon wanted to end his 'Mr McMahon' character and 'retire' from his on-screen persona

B. He'll come back, more vile than ever, looking for 'revenge' because nobody tried to pull him out of the inferno. Image 'Mr McMahon' but only 100 times worse than his character was, to this point

C. He'll come back, saying the explosion was a 'wake-up call' and he 'saw the light', and 'saw the error of his ways', and come back as a face (good-guy for those who don't follow wrestling)

You're right. Look at Eddie Gurrero... he died for real, and McMahon used a real death, of a real person, to profit from it, by making a storyline out of it.

Anyone in the business should get the 10 bell salute, even vince cuz he did alot for the business but what he did on tuesday just degreaded all those who came before him. You look at past events when they did it, like for andre, owen hart, eddie guererro, those were genuine and the emotions were there. Vince just threw it out there

He needs to really die for what he did

Oh yeah, Owen Hart, who died doing an unnessary stunt as payback for Bret Hart punching Vinces lights out for being a liar and a cheat. Then of course there is Eddie Guerrero who's death was exploited for proffit for over a year. I don't believe Vince has a genuine emotion other then feelings of Greed and Hatred. Greed for money and hatred for anyone who has the ball to stand up to him (and only the Hart boys ever really did).

For the record if Vince did anything he ruined wrestling by crushing the old terrirory ways that the indastry was run. Now he is the only big money game in town, thus if you want to make a lliving as a wrestler you have to work for him. This minopaly allows him to treat the people who work for him in what ever manner he chooses. Why do you think I stopped watching WWE right after Eddie died. Fuck the McMahons they are shit, a puss infected wound on the ass of humanity.

Tell us how you really feel, Slaver!!!

I just got thru talking to a college classmate of mine who works for their marketing dept, and yes friends, he is still in the land of the living

This is all geared for a storyline to turn him into a face again, because he has been over the top for a while, with some of the storylines he did, like challenging God, etc,

So look forward to a good little Vince in a few months, I believe around Survivor Series

It won't sell. People know what a piece of crap he is in real life, then again WWE fans do tend to be mindless sheep. I know I used to be one. I stopped drinking the Kool Aid after Survivor Serries 97, and started drinking the Hater Aid around Over the Edge, when Owen Hart died. Now I have nothing but hate in for all things McMahon.

The sick thing is.....would if Vince got hit by a bus tomorrow and really got killed? Would the fans buy this or think it's another storyline?

Actually it sounds like the plan may be that the MTV Jackass guys will turn out being responsible for blowing Vince up. Then they'll have some kind of grudge match for SummerSlam.

People would believe that because it would be genuine and not planted by the company and you would have the wrestlers out the honor his memory

They also wouldnt show the bus hitting him repeatedly

You seem to use the word GENUINE alot, and I keep trying to tell you that there is nothing Genuine about anything McMahon.

The explosion was part of the show as was what everyone and everything done or said on the show. I sure no one was injured in the stunt.

Yes, unfortunely no McMahon's were really injured or killed during the production of the program.

Ditto on that, save for the decaded. Wrestling was much better in the 80's.
No it was staged, though I have a young relative who also believes he died. The money grabbing idiot, will come back soon.

You know its funny, everything this man touches sooner or later turns to dust. The only reason the company didn't go belly up is because his daddy started it. Had he done so, it might have lasted something like ten, twenty years, but then it would go cablewy.

I despise the man but he was a genius businessman who stole, got away with it and became a billionaire
