My phone has a "voice mail to text" option, meaning that instead of listening to a voicemail message you can read a text version of the same message. It is a very useful feature if it is noisy where you're retrieving the message.

Shortly after the Dodgers won the NL Pennant last week, I received a voice mail message from a friend who is also a Dodger fan. In it, she mentioned the name of one of the Dodger catchers, Yasmani Grandal.

Voice mail to text rendered his name as "gas money grand ball." 😛

Ha ha! Don’t know this voice-to-mail feature, but I’ve had plenty of crazy auto-corrects when I’ve miss-typed words! Who says machines can’t have a sense of humor!

I've had similar things happen typing reports in MS Word... some of the suggested replacements were hilarious. As a geologist, we would drill and install boreholes at various sites. When this was typed into the report, Word would question our word, and suggest that we installed brothels at the site. There were a number of others....don't know if I can dig them up again. Not just voice-to-mail; it's them danged programmers that think they know more than we do.
