So I walk a lot sometimes 5 or 6 miles for work each day. My feet get beat up. They use to be very ticklish when I was younger. I'm in my late 30's. I'm afraid they wont be ticklish anymore. I haven't had them tickled in years but I've recently met somebody again. I also have something called plantar fibroma I'm trying to get rid off. Basically its a small bump on each foot in the middle from walking all the time.

Anyways just curious if older folks had any thoughts on this. I've also heard walking a lot makes your feet more sensitive. Thanks for any feedback.

I’ve walked long distances for work for decades 🙂 it hasn’t affected anything with my sensitivity. I have the same outside bone that sticks out. But I have flat feet too 🙂

This might be good news for you, In the 2 jobs that I have it consists of a lot of walking probably in the neighborhood of what you walk each day. my feet are just as sensitive then as they are when I wake up in the morning

I do a lot of backpacking, and once dated a girl who joined me a few times. Without question, walking 15+ miles in a day over rocks and mountains in hiking boots made her feet off the charts ticklish. I mean, she had super ticklish feet to begin with. But, once she surprised me with a pair of nylons on a backpacking trek, and lets just say the forest didn't experience any silence that night.

She was at least, if not more, surprised than I was...

It made for one of those special and genuine tickling experiences where there is a true "fresh" experience.

I remember being in a walkathon in college(it was actually a keg roll. You'd attach a lawnmower handle to an empty keg and we'd roll it from our frat house to another house on a different College campus about 50 miles away.)
We'd have a couple people slowly driving cars so we could take turns and get some rest. When it was all over, I realized my feet weren't at all ticklish(they're normally extremely ticklish) that night. I was a little freaked out, but I was so tired, I just wanted to sleep. The next day the sensitivity had returned. So I guess extended walking can deaden the nerves on the soles of your feet at least temporarily.

That's interesting. My experience has been the complete opposite.

I'll bet that the difference is walking in the forest/backpacking vs walking on blacktop.

Seems to be what the consensus states so far.

Backpacking... in nylons?

I can tell you that my wife's feet definitely become more ticklish when we do lots of walking. I have taken advantage of this many times, and still do!!
Fresh out of enclosed shoes and socks, she has a hard time with even the light tickles.

I'm a ticklee and I work 10 hour shifts on concrete floors and I swear my feet are MORE ticklish after a long day.
