Has anyone seen the new movie "Wall Street 2"? I saw it today, and disliked it so much, that I walked out, with about a half hour to go in the movie, something I have only done, maybe one or two other times in my whole life.

To me, the movie was boring, contrived, and nothing like what was advertised. The original was, in my opinion, one of the best movies ever made. The plotline of the greedy broker who wanted to make the quick buck, and the shady financial wizard played by Michael Douglas, worked to perfection.

For anyone else who has seen Wall Street 2: Thoughts? Good? Mediocre? Bad? Why?

Good to know!

Thank you, Mitch, I'll wait to borrow the DVD or just go watch the original 😀

I'm not usually keen on remakes anyway.... Some do work, some really are improvements, but not within (10 years? :ermm: )

That just sounded like *Hollywood trying to make a quick buck 😛

Babbles, dont even bother wasting your time watching WS 2 on DVD. It was awful. The original, however, was AMAZING! (Only my opinion of course, but, well worth the time to see it, I think.

The trailer for WS 2 was enough to convince me not to go and see it in the theater.

You have convinced me not to bother to watch it on cable a year or two from now, either. Thanks for the negative review.

YW, pal. You mentioned the trailer for WS 2. I guess I thought that because the original was good, the sequel would be too.

I'm glad my negative review was helpful to you. I never like to "influence my friends", so to speak. My post was just a heads up about my own personal opinion of the film. My friends can do as they please.

Thats cool that your brother liked it, Macphisto. I know the manager of the theater near my apartment well, because I go there often. He told me that the reviews he heard were completely mixed. Some people loved WS 2, others hated it.

It sounds like the type of movie that is a matter of preference.

Thanks for the review Mitch. Personally I thought the trailer for this movie was pretty silly because I felt like it gave the whole movie away. I was already on the fence as to whether I was gonna watch this on DVD or not.

Looks like I won't be now.

Yw, Chaos, glad I could help.

The weird thing is: I usually see previews in the theaters, and trailers online. I didnt see any trailers or previews for this one, and just went to see it, based on the fact that I loved the original. I talked to a friend yesterday, who also loved the original, and told him my thoughts about WS 2. He told me that he might not see it either.

Many times, when I see a movie in the theater, I will watch it again when it comes to cable. I wont be watching this movie, ever again.
