WAR Of Words!!!!!!!!!!!!!

That is more clear - the brevity and improved organization were very helpful. Thank you. 🙂

I did not accuse you of being the first person on this forum to criticize another's grammar. It actually happens quite often in discussion threads, and I was happy to see that on this thread, at least, we'd managed to stay away from that unproductive practice. What I actually said was:

As far as I can tell, this statement is factually correct.

Like I said before, in my experience, careful writing tends to accompany careful thinking, and I appreciate both. 🙂

I guess factually you forgot what tcklft said about your mistakes... And what I was saying before is if your going to make statements about other people grammar and sentence structure you better do it with perfect grammar and sentence structure. Otherwise you look like a hypocrite.

If someone misspells a word than it's not always on purpose. Don't assume it is. If someone’s too lazy to write 'u' instead of you than they are just lazy.

I was not try to implying that people misspell words on purpose. I make a lot of spelling mistakes myself, and I give quite a bit of leeway when it comes misspellings.

But I stand by my assertion that some spelling mistakes are a sign of laziness. I don't know about Internet Explorer, but I know that at least Safari and Firefox will put red underlines under misspelled words as you type them. If you right click on the red underlined word, the browser will give you suggestions for what you meant. When the browser so clearly highlights your errors, it only takes a very small effort to correct them.

Eye no spell checkers aren't perfect. If ewe substitute one word four another correctly spelled one, it cant help ewe with yore spelling. Butt there better thin nothing.

If someone posted something with a misspelling that would have been flagged by a spellchecker then that means they posted after having ignored the red underlines. And to me that is a sign of laziness.

I guess factually you forgot what tcklft said about your mistakes...

Oy vey.* I suppose it's a personal flaw of mine that I'm even bothering to respond to this, but here I re-quote myself yet again, emphasis different:

... nor has anyone engaged in that practice on this thread... until just now. Congratulations on being the first. 😉

Not the only. The first. Again, factually correct.

And what I was saying before is if your going to make statements about other people grammar and sentence structure you better do it with perfect grammar and sentence structure. Otherwise you look like a hypocrite.

Yes, you do. 😉

I was careful when I posted earlier, though not careful enough. I re-quote my mea culpa* from Post #24, for anyone who liked it so much they want to see it again:

😱 OH NOEZ!!!!! :scared: I hang my head in shame. :dropatear

Anyway, can we yell at this guy instead?

Eye no spell checkers aren't perfect. If ewe substitute one word four another correctly spelled one, it cant help ewe with yore spelling. Butt there better thin nothing.

Hay man! Now that's painful! Learn too spell, ewe hypocrite!!! 😀

*Damn these borrowed English phrases for not showing up in spell check. Pain in the ass.... 😛

Agreed, some posts are difficult if not annoying to read, specially those with lots of abbreviations, missing words and no punctuation at all. Those I usually ignore. Besides that I don't really care much for spelling mistakes, content is more important to me.

What really annoys me though is when people are engaged in an argument and one starts pointing out spelling mistakes the other one made, just because they obviously ran out of matter-of-factly arguments and want to use anything to put the other person down.
That's just pathetic IMO.
