They basically shat upon the source material, that's why I hated it. They wrecked the Harry Osborn version of the Green Goblin, fouled the entire concept of Venom pretty much from the ground up, and made Gwen Stacy into some kind of freakin' cameo also-ran. If he only casted Bruce Campbell, it would be a hysterical movie. Sure Campbell is; well, Campbell. You would at least have a character, and not another stick figure...
