Don't be ignorant. It's next to impossible to fix an NFL game, AND if the NFL was gonna try it it seemed they favored the Rams. I played in the NFL. No one is gonna let the biggest opportunity of their lives slide for Americas false sense of Patriotism. Anyone who watches football and has a decent understanding of the game knew the Rams weren't at all better than New England, AND deficient to the Pats in the one thing that matters, physical Play,. Bill Bellichick won two superbowls as a defensive coordinator and almost stole a 3rd one against gReen Bay. Better coaching, more confidence AND physical play always wins. Gotta love the Pats. I'm a Raiders fan but damn, The Pats won me 5grand yesterday. And I didn't take the point spread. I took them straight up.

So, you were in the NFL...not a Buffalo Bill by any chance in the 70's/early 80's? I played racquetball with nearly the entire team back then...bunch of uncoordinated goobers with thick necks..lol...but man, did I ever feel safe in the bar later with them around! Q

it couldnt have been fixed. it may have seemed that way, but i doubt it was. otherwise if anything was going to be fixed, then the New York "Yankees" should have won the World Series.

i am so happy the Rams lost. those bastards seem to keep bragging that they left Los Angeles and dont hesitate to crack jokes. cocky bastards got what they deserved, a big fat loss. the patriots have a special place in my heart. they beat the Rams AND Raiders, two teams that left Los Angeles. i hope they never succeed. so you can imagine my hatred when the Rams won two years ago.....

The Chiefs

I played with the Chiefs in 81 and 83. As for inside info. Nah I didn't have any except watching the playoffs and gut feeling. As for sharing with my mates? LOL Dude you have me wrong. No one online is my mate. Ya'll share a minor interest of mine but so far as I'm concerned you're no different then words on a sheet of paper. That;s it. You'll never see me saying I like someone from online, or saying someone online is a friend. That sort of interaction is impossible. In real life ya'll might be nice people, but I have no real interest in finding out. As for being uncoordinated, I'm 40, can still dunk a basketball, play hockey and just about anything someone 20 years younger and 100 pounds lighter can do.

Actually I'm pushing 50 now, can't dunk anymore, but mostly due to a ruptured achilles tendon more than age. Still can beat 20 year olds in racquetball, but only for 2 hours now...not 4 anymore. Last gathering? It was in December. I wasn't at the SuperBowl frenzy in NY. Though after reading the posts, it sounds like I'd have enjoyed it. I was Mardi Gras-ing in the streets whilst they played in the Dome. 😉

My next gathering, which incidently is my first trip to New Yrok City, is in 15 days. I'll be visiting with friends *gasp* yes, friends I met online and decided I adored so much they are the flesh variety now. 🙂

Fixed Superbowl

Just my opinion, but yes I do think the game was fixed. I didn't bet on it and I don't bet sports. BUT - the Pats got a "hand me down" on a call from the refs to beat the Raiders, the Pats had too many questionable and "review" decisions go their way against the Steelers (not to mention a 'hash mark' placement that gave the Pats that punt return down the middle of the field for a touchdown)and last but not least, the Rams all but didnt' even show up in the bowl game. The Reason? The economy. Gambling is a multi-billion dollar business. Vegas needs more visitors as it is.. so who would Vegas gain the most by winning the Superbowl? The Pats. All the money was on the Rams or Steelers to win it all. Tie all this up in a big red, white and blue ribbon and top it off with a "All American theme" in the Superbowl, and the Pats winning it all and there you have it. A fixed game. 🙂

Also keep in mind.. to this day, Bubba Smith still claims Superbowl 3 was fixed.
