The passage was translated in the other thread as follows:"...on the second floor of Barrack no X, through the whole week (1-7 May 1951), almost constantly, day and night, a laughter of a tickle tortured woman, who begged to stop tormenting her. One of our neighbours couldn't stand this anymore and started shouting loudly "Stop tormenting that woman!"

I never believed it was used as a specific torture either given that a hot iron can do the job far faster. Then a honed master explained it really was used but mostly in special circumstances, and usually not as a given sentenced torture, probably on the side quite often by sadistic tormentors. Just as rape most likely happened constantly in dungeons but you never read of it in history books or from the Catholic Church. At his party he brought out his huge collection of historical information, which was both stunning and vast as he had delved into this for many years and even had transcripts from Germany and China translated into English. There were quite a few recorded accounts of tickling used as a part of a torture, but not applied in any erotic sense as we would speak about here.
