Waste of vodka? Or not?

Home cure: Vodka

Use it for: Foot odor

If your feet smell less than swell, wipe them down with a vodka-soaked washcloth to get rid of the stench. It’s the same principle as rubbing alcohol (which works equally well if you’d rather drink your Grey Goose). Vodka contains alcohol, which is antiseptic and drying, so it destroys odor-causing fungus and bacteria and dries out the moisture that lets these organisms grow.

(found this on MSN)

Just drink the vodka instead; you'll lose your sense of smell AND stop caring about what those around you think! It's also a lot more fun. 😀 😛

^ROFL! :rowfull:

Yes... don't waste the precious vodka! 😱 There are plenty of other alternatives available for such a nasty problem 😛 😀

It's making me think of an episode of 'Two and a Half Men' where Charlie Sheen talks about a cure for athlete's foot that involves peeing on your feet, since, for some reason urine kills the fungus...

This was confirmed on Mythbusters...

Soap does a better job, and is less expensive.

Yes, like the almost 100% pure lab-produced alcohol; cheap as fuck and if you save some you can mix it with soft drinks and get hammered in 10 minutes.

If you don't go blind first!

I'm sure rubbing alcohol has the same effect as the ethanol in vodka. That one extra branched methyl group can't make that big of a difference (God I'm a nerd). Rubbing alcohol is also much cheaper than vodka too. Save your vodka for it's intended purpose!

nah, that's cleaning alcohol, which containes methanol besides the ethanol you want. That's what makes you blind. Lab-produced alcohol does not contain any methanol; it can fuck up your experiments. So it's just either 96% pure or 100% pure ethanol.

Oh, that's what I thought you were talking about, the denatured ethanol they use for cleaning bench tops. What's this "lab-produced" stuff you're talking about? If it's what I'm thinking of, that's not exactly cheap either.

Pour all the vodka you want on your feet, save yourself from a regretful night of bad vodka-induced ideas 😀 ...if it was whiskey that would be a different story don't waste that please.

It's the result of this process:

And quite cheap because it does not have the huge alcohol tax drinks have.

Use lots of it in the lab, don't know how much a gallon would cost but it can't be expensive seeing the quantities that are used without too much care.

For the record, my feet are not normally smelly, I just wanted to make some waves. :wavingguy:blaugh: I would NEVER waste vodka like that, now ... whiskey on the other hand.....kidding :upsidedow

You can get rubbing alcohol for a dollar around here. Save the vodka for drinking!
