Way to identify a Ler or Lee !!!!

the real fun with the smilies on the fingertips thing... is in the wearing them off. 🙂

A way to recognize TMF members in everyday life?

I'm sure this has been discussed before but I can't find anything like it right now:

Wouldn't it be great if there was a secret phrase/gesture/whatever to check if the person you're talking to knows about TMF and is thus aware of something like a tickle fetish? Or maybe this has already been invented and I just don't know about it?

Suggestions everybody! Let's agree upon something that is internationally understandable. In the end, it could be supported by the admins and made a sticky information for everybody to learn.

I think its a great idea :bump:

Rather then a word or phrase or gesture, why not something simple like a bracelet/necklace (for both men and women) which has a hand that says TMF or a smile made out of the words TMF or similar?

I’d wear one…hell, if it generates enough interest I will mass produce them here (where everything is cheaper LOL) and for a fee to cover the costs and postage, I’ll send them out to everyone all over the world 🙂

Let’s see how many people respond thou first :2poke:

The idea has certainly been floated before:

http://www.ticklingforum.com/showthread.php?t=1934&highlight="orange+feather"

And there has been talk for a long time about using an orange pen, or
an orange feather to help identify other tickling enthusiasts.

NEST2008 had both shirts and pins available, with the logo below.

I wear my NEST shirt all the time, and have the pin on the collar of a
zipped sweatshirt I wear, and most TMFers should recognize, since it
was up for several months before the event 🙂

There are still NEST2008 pins available if people are interested.

A fantastic idea!!

Count me in for sure!

I'd think the "pendant/bracelet" idea is the way to go. Otherwise, you'd have a bunch of people speaking nonsense or making wild gestures for no apparent reason to find out if they are "one of us".

I'd buy one of those items in a second!

OK, thanks for your replies. Looks like thera are two different approaches that have to be distinguished: Wearing something constantly, or giving a single sign in a situation where you suspect someone to be part of the community. The disadvantage of something you wear is that you'd have to explain it. And I want the sign to be available for those who aren't out of the closet with their fetish. And that's were you get problems with a TMF bracelet or something similar, especially if someone doesn't usually wear jewelry at all. :scared:

I think if you dont wear jewlery that often you could still get away with it...it could be wooden jewlery (looks good on most guys) or stirling silver, or gold, or anything...all you would need is a design/logo and trasfer it onto whatever kind of jewlery style you wanted

The more I talk about it the more I want one 🙂

If we get an overwhelming response I think I will have to make one

I think we should get something like those yellow livestrong bands for cancer. Only a diferent color and have it say something about the tmf so people would know. Guys and Gals can where these and still be fashionably correct hehe

Admitted, if you're open with your fetish towards your friends at least, it's no problem to wear *anything* that refers to TMF. Then it's just about finding something fashionable and maybe standardized. But that was not what I had in mind in first place. :jester: For me, it was more about the secret aspect of it all. Maybe we can find something for both purposes.

Who the hell wants to "gang sign" someone, when they don't
even know they're into tickling? At least if someone is wearing
something, discreet or not, which identifies them as being into
it, then someone who might recognise that symbol, but isn't
wearing one, can possibly come up to them and start a conversation.

Otherwise, how are you going to know they're into it? I've been to
plenty of tickling gatherings, and people don't look the same, nor
dress the same, nor act the same.

If I weren't into something, and someone started making strange
hand gestures at me because they THOUGHT I was into it, too,
I'd get pretty annoyed, and depending on the situation, might
even call the police/security, etc.

It's a lot easier when there's a discreet tangible symbol.

Barring that, try to get to more places where you know ticklers
go, and get to know them in an obvious setting.

I say we all just wear t-shirts that say, "HEY!!! I'M AN F***IN' MEMBER OF THE TMF!!!" OK, maybe that's not the best approach. Would sure as heck stand out, though. 😀

The thought was rather that me myself and certainly many others on the forum know people who seem to be more open-minded towards tickling than the average. But that doesn't mean I'd be brave enough to blatantly ask them if they know the TMF.
I can hardly think of a gesture so badly chosen that it causes someone to call the police. At least not in Germany. :jester: Seriously, that's why I wanted to make people *think* about it in the first place. Of course it has to be inconspicuous. If people make fools of themselves, nevertheless, it's their problem.

Im about to fix t-shirts and sweater with this one. 🙂

I like the suggestion of the colored bands that read, Proud 2 Be a TMF Member. The community could agree on a color, so that all could be easily recognized by other members. Perhaps, a key chain or bumper sticker as a second suggestion.
Outsiders may inquire what does TMF stand for? So, you can't sport this band unless you are absolutely proud to be a member.

Yep, I guess that's how it's gonna be. Of course I knew from the start that the whole idea of a secret sign probably wouldn't come true. But it rather was the mere concept that intrigued me. Just wanted to hear a few crazy ideas.

You beat me to it.

I'm wearing my NEST tshirt right now. The tshrit or pin is easily recognized by any TMF member and is innocuous to the rest of the world. 😀

Haha or we could just walk to up random people and yell that at them while shaking 'em violently. I mean, if all other suggestions fail at getting one arrested 😀

I devoted a few minutes to trying to figure out how to sign 'TMF' with my hands. I then realized what I was doing and slapped myself for the next few minutes.

LMAO.I have a NEST 2008 pin,i think i'm gonna start wearing it on my shirt collar when i'm not working and see what happens.😀

Yeah, I'd wear something like that, so long as it was discreet...even for the folks who don't mind being identified, I think it would be more fun if it were an ambiguous something.

Although I'd rather have something that sends a signal to folk who aren't a part of this particular forum, but are into tickling.

Now, I'm about to go off on one...some clothes and jewellery appeared in Urban Outfitters recently, with very bold feather patterns. I bought a tshirt and a plastic bangle, and have noticed that SOME people seem to stare lingeringly at the feather design, then glance nervously away.

So, to further test my new sneaky way of identifying people who share my pervy pervishness, I've purchased one of those pens that looks like a big quill (a fiver at Accessorise).

Those quills just don't tickle - you're barking up the wrong tree there, Lucy...
