I know some things might be different with the new server but.....is my mind playing tricks on me or is this a glitch in the new server or what?

What I'm referring to is where it says "Search: Key Word(s): alba ; Forum: Mainstream Clips and child forums"

A "child forum" is simply tech-speak for a sub-forum. For instance, if you were going to do a search for something in Clips, the engine wants to know if you'd like to search in Clips, Non-tickling clips...all of the "child forums" attached to the forum you're searching in. again, it's just another word for a "sub-forum".

Silly Stuff, Sports, P&R and the like are all "child forums" of General Discussion, for instance.

That's it. I know, the first time I saw it, it threw me as well. :triangle:

What she said....do a search forum in any forum here and you get that same screen...:jester:

Oops, sorry. The above was actually posted by me. I'm sharing Bella's computer and was already logged in as her! D'oh! However, the explanation stands. (This way, Bella doesn't feel like she's gone schizo and started posting in her sleep! :triangle: )

Maybe they could come up with a different name for it than "child forums"? Of course if it said "sub forums" people would think they were forums all about 'lees. Or sub sandwiches. Mmmmm, tasty.

It is indeed a common tech thing. In UNIX, for one, any process that is spawned by another process is considered a child process of the original. Similarly, if a shell is started from another shell (shells are what interpret commands in UNIX and Linux) it is called a child shell.
