Yeah, I picked all the away games. Just seems to make sense this way, though.

Atlanta Falcons -2 @ Arizona Cardinals 4:30pm ( NBC ) --- I think that the Cardinals are a very different team at home than they are on the road. That being stated, the Falcons are 4-4 on the road this season as well. I think though the Falcons are favored ( and rightly so ) they might come up a bit short here. But by golly gee, the future is suddenly bright in Atlanta.

Indianapolis Colts -1 @ San Diego Chargers 8:00pm ( NBC ) --- Payton Manning and the Colts are hot. Really hot. Their 9 game winning streak proves that. The Chargers finished the season strong. But they don't belong in the playoffs. Besides, who do you want as your coach, Dungy or Norv Turner??? Easy question isn't it. Colts will win something like 27-17.

Sunday, January 4th,2009

Baltimore Ravens -3 @ Miami Dolphins 1:00pm ( CBS ) --- Miami may have had an easy schedule. But Chad will not hurt this team. Baltimore played them once in Miami and blitz the snot out of Pennington last time. I believe that this game will be a better game plan for Miami. It is tough to beat a good team twice in one season. That is what Baltimore has on it's docket. They need to beat Miami a second time. Gonna be a good game.

Philadelphia Eagles -3 @ Minnesota Vikings 4:30pm ( FOX ) --- What is it going to take for Tavris Jackson to beat the Eagles??? A perfect game. Adrian Peterson will have to run for 150 yards. The Vikings will need at least two turnovers. Can they do it??? Of course they can. Will they doing it??? I don't know. The Eagles were left for dead after their tie with the Bengals. Then they needed things to break right to get to the playoffs. Now things have broken right for them. They are living a charmed life. I expect the ride for the Eagles to continue.

Atlanta Falcons -2 @ Arizona Cardinals This will either be a really close game or a complete blowout. If Kurt Warner plays a great game, and with all the weapons he has, Arizona could make a game of this. Cardinals' problem is stopping the run, and Michael Turner is one of the best...just lost in the NFC shadow of Adrian Peterson. Falcons get a lead and pound the ball...and this game is over.

Indianapolis Colts -1 @ San Diego Chargers San Diego backed in...and they'll back out just as quickly. Yes, the Chargers have been a thorn in Peyton Manning's side for some time, but not this year.

Sunday, January 4th,2009

Baltimore Ravens -3 @ Miami Dolphins As much as I'd like to say the Dolphins could make a deep run, they won't with a first round game against the Ravens. Ed Reed can change the outcome of a game with his play alone. The "Wildcat" doesn't surprise anyone anymore and Baltimore's D will be simply to much for Pennington and Co.

Philadelphia Eagles -3 @ Minnesota Vikings This point spread had got to be the recent Philly-love bandwagon. Philly's only even in the playoffs because of the losses of two other teams that should have won. Not that they're not playing well of late, but if you stop an erratic Brian Westbrook, you stop the Eagles. And the Vikes have the league's #1 run defense. If TJ comes in hot and continues to keep the INT's to a minimum, and if AP can keep from fumbling the ball and can rack up over 100 yards against a spotty Eagles D...this could be over by halftime.

Arizona Cardinals +2 You can't convince me that Atlanta is THAT much better than AZ. Even if the Cards backed into the playoffs. Gimme a home team.

Indianapolis Colts -1 When in doubt bet against Norv Turner.

Baltimore Ravens -3 I'm wary of Flacco and I want the Phish to win... but it ain't happenin.

Philadelphia Eagles -3 @ Again, I hate to bet against AP and the Vikes at home, espescially when the favorite is the McNabb-Reid combo... but I don't think Tav Jackson can or will handle the Philly pash rush. I won't be shocked no matter who wins this game.

Good luck to all.

If your teams in the playoffs, hope they win (unless they play the Steelers 😀)

good luck to all

The favorites are giving up nothing in the way of points, and I'm predicting that the away teams will all come out on top. None of the home teams play in the cold (Minnesota's in a dome) thereby gaining a real advantage. Arizona and Atlanta could be close with two good offenses and porous defenses; Atlanta has the better special teams and had the better season against stronger opposition. Baltimore and Philly are two very dangerous 6th seeds, and I expect their defenses to hold up in the Sunday matchups. San Diego is coached by Norv Turner.
