The Tickling Master's Week 3 Picks
I need to lose some picks this week, or else co-workers will ask me for advice or encourage me to bet.

Tennessee Titans +2 1/2 @ New York Jets 1:00pm Let's see. 3 Points is the standard underdog line & I think a number less than that means that people are picking the underdog & they're begging you to take the favorite. I'll go against the grain & guess that the Jets margin of victory is a touchdown.
Jacksonville Jaguars +4 @ Houston Texans 1:00pm I think this will be a wire-to-wire shootout, & in wire-to-wire shootouts, the margin is usually a field goal or a touchdown. Since I have more trust in Houston, I'll lean Houston's way.
Kansas City Chiefs +9 1/2 @ Philadelphia Eagles 1:00pm I'm required to make an insane pick at least once a week. I'm gathering that the Eagles defense can be exposed upon enough for the Chiefs to cover the 9.5. The insanity part is that I believe KC wins this game outright, & only on a hunch.
Cleveland Browns +13 1/2 @ Baltimore Ravens 1:00pm I think they're looking for a brave soul who says that Flacco will have a bad game, as throwing or fumbling to Brown defenders is the only way the line isn't covered. What can Brown do for you? Not cover the number.
New York Giants -6 1/2 @ Tampa Bay Buccaneers 1:00pm This pick scares me, because the Giants seem to not pile up points very easily. (See all green zone struggles this year.) But if the Giants can hit a quick strike or two with a long ball, this shouldn't be a problem.
Washington Redskins -6 1/2 @ Detroit Lions 1:00pm Hmmm. Washington struggled against St. Louis. If this game stays in the low scores (Under 20), then Detroit has an excellent chance to win, just as long as hot-looking women don't cause unattractive game disruptions.
Green Bay Packers -6 1/2 @ St. Louis Rams 1:00pm There isn't any thought (irrational or not) that can justify me taking the points.
San Francisco 49ers +7 @ Minnesota Vikings 1:00pm There are plenty of rational thoughts for a 49ers cover. Peterson is hurt, & Favre is ancient. If AP is hurt, Brett Favre is going to air out the football. Just ask the Green Bay Packers & the New York Jets how their final games in previous seasons turned out with that indecisive quarterback. And if Favre airs the football, I expect it to be caught...by gentlemen with 49er logos.
Atlanta Falcons +4 @ New England Patriots 1:00pm New England's defense is done. They let a rookie quarterback score 13 unanswered points in the second half, & tried to give away a game to Trent Edwards. I believe that Matt Ryan is significantly better than those two.
Chicago Bears -2 1/2 @ [Correction: Seattle Seahawks] 4:05pm I can't believe that Forte will struggle forever, & neither will Cutler. I was going to say this if Buffalo was the opponent, but since that Hasselbeck guy is hurt, this pick seems like a no-brainer now.
New Orleans Saints -6 @ Buffalo Bills 4:05pm I know that this could be a shootout. However, I can't see Buffalo doing enough offensively to keep up with Brees. And I don't see the Buffalo DST as being good enough to slow Brees to the 20s. So...
Miami Dolphins +6 @ San Diego Chargers 4:15pm You know, I am glad that Chargers lost last week. This is an overinflated team with good individual talent but no toughness. I think Miami can keep San Diego on the sidelines. This time, I see the Dolphins winning in the 4th quarter.
Pittsburgh Steelers -4 @ Cincinnati Bengals 4:15pm The Bungles are playing better defense, but until I See Roethlisberger struggle, I'll go with this two-time superbowl QB winner.
Denver Broncos -1 1/2 @ Oakland Raiders 4:15pm Like I said earlier, I don't have any thought (irrational or otherwise) to support a quarterback who can only complete 7 passes.
Indianapolis Colts +2 1/2 @ Arizona Cardinals 8:20pm I went against that brother of my quarterback last week, & the Dolphins did everything right to cover the number. I think the Cardinals will do everything wrong...& cover the number.

Carolina Panthers + 8 1/2 @ Dallas Cowboys 8:35pm A lot of people are jumping on the Romo train. But if you think about it, Delhomme & Romo look like twin brother quarterbacks to me. Neither sees the field well, & both have melted down recently in the spotlight. With everything else being roughly the same, I can't give away a touchdown plus if I can't trust a quarterback.
