So.

Strange thing happened.

I've been on an extended road trip for ... the entire month of October, and while out and about I was all like "hey, I should meet up with my buddy on the TMF." Why not, right? And so we did and I had my first tickling experience(s) with one of 'us,' if you will.

Now I've got a place and I'm stationary for a bit, so I've been able to log on to the TMF again. As usual, my mouse kinda wandered a bit and I checked out a few of the media sections, and ...

... well, none of it was a turn on to me. Absolutely none of it. It was just a bunch of pictures and videos of what to me now seemed like a totally normal although fun as hell activity, rather than anything remotely sexual.

It would seem as though experiencing tickling, as we know it, first hand, has completely de-eroticized it. I still really, really like tickling people I have a thing for (you know who you are), but it's as if the mystique has been removed from it and with it the sexual charge of it.

No, I haven't had it happen to me lately. But this doesn't surprise me. People (consciously and preconsciously) "de-eroticize" sexual activities all the time to the point where its not even a turn on. Even breaking things down to a purely material level like some forms of empiricism do is a form of de-eroticization.

I'm trying to think of a specific example but I can't seem to find a popular one at the moment. Romance novels and soft core porn probably. Depends which novel/movie it is, but those things seem to have a tendency to de-eroticize a sex act or at least downplay it to the tenth degree. Seems to be a natural human inclination from time to time.

Could also be desensitization, medication, etc. The way you're describing it sounds kind of like your libido just flattened out for the time being. Kind of normal when you're in a contemplative state of mind or experiencing what Buddhist's call "equanimity".

Yeah, I'll be honest, experiencing things changed them for me as well. In addition to tickling, I am also into other kinds of BDSM. Once I've done something, the videos don't seem as...what...powerful? But I still do refer to them for new ideas.

You didn't lose the fetish, it probably just evolved.

I experienced kind of the same thing yeah. The whole thrill with tickling was totaly ÜBER ALLES before I joined the BDSM community. Don't get my wrong..I still LOVE tickling and think of it about all the time.
