Hi all. This post is for people to describe their favorite alcoholic drinks, and possibly to learn something new and get new experiences.

Non-drinkers, you have my compliments and my respect, and also my advice that this thread probably isn't worth reading.

That said...

I love sweet drinks. I don't like drinks where you have to mask the taste, I like drinks where you savor the taste.

I love Opici; a delicious Italian red wine. Livingston is pretty good too.

I love amaretto, Bailey's, and Carolan's. Sweet drinks! They're components in toasted almonds, mudslides, and buttery nipples.

My bosses at work were convincing me to try bourbon, scotch, and/or brandy. I bought some brandy yesterday (E&J). I strongly dislike it straight; it tastes like rough sandpaper. I experimented and found it's decent when combined with iced tea.

What are your favorite drinks?

I like single malt whiskey from Sctoland, in particular from the island of Islay.

My favorite:

I don't drink much anymore, very rare in fact. But this is what I do drink when I decide to have a couple:

Smirnoff Ice - I like the Manderin Orange, the Grape, and the Watermelon the best.

Marguaritas - love the lemon/lime with salt, or the strawberry with sugar.

I will have an occasional beer, but that is so rare.

I drink Jack or Schnapps if I need a quick buzz. Other than that, I don't!

I have once tried a beer but didn't like so i don't drink....besides that I am not yet 21

Beer-any kind other than dark beers like guinnes but i drink all from normal beers to various imports

Like my whisky's and bourbons, pretty much i drink anything

Martinis, vodka tonics, margaritas in the spring/summer; bourbon, scotch, dark ale or stout in the fall/winter. Love Manhattans around the Christmas season!

I make up a concoction using...
three shots of Kahlua
three shots of Baileys
a shot of vodka
a shot of peppermint schnapps
and 2 cups of Mudslide
I haven't named it yet but it's yummy as hell!!!

For just straight shots, Wild Turkey 101, Jameson's, or Jagermeister.

Other than that: Irish Car Bombs - Half a pint of guiness, then drop in a mixed shot of Bailey's and Whiskey, pound the whole thing.

Liquid Cocaine - Rumpleminze, Jager, Goldschlager, topped off with 151 (will fuck you up big time)

Kamikazes

I generally stick with those.

Um... could you please define the term... "pound the whole thing?" Never heard that phrase used with a drink before...
Shaken...
Stirred...
Mixed...
Blended...
Frozen...
These I've heard...

never heard "Pound"

It means the same thing as chug. You drop the shot into your beer, then chug it.

Yessssss, Mz C... they are tasty, and with that subtle hint of inebriation... and with Halloween coming...

well in my first attempt to quit drinking it was usually gin and tonics, vodka, whiskey, tequila, or basically all the above. my second attempt I was drinking alot of ghetto beers and fourties such as Camo and Old English.......

Now I've given up. It's been about three weeks of no drinking whatsoever

Nah... I'm sure the parents would frown on it if I offered these instead of candy.
But it WOULD make things a bit more interesting if I could offer it to the parents who come along with the kids! :xpulcy:

I too prefer sweet cordials for sipping.

For cocktails, I'll go with a margarita.

For wines, although I've been learning to appreciate fruit-forward zins and amarone, I prefer Riesling spatlese or auslese (or TBA or eiswein if I could afford it!)

On my shelf right now, I have: Celtic Crossing (a whiskey-based liqueur), Farigoule (a French herbal liqueur), Sortilege (a Canadian whiskey-and-maple liqueur), Absente (an imitation of Absinthe, without the imitation thujone), and Pyrat XO Reserve rum (also somewhat sweet; it's new to me and I'm still trying to figure out what to make with it).

One of my hobbies is making homemade liqueurs. I currently have a licorice liqueur on the shelf, and a cranberry liqueur in preparation for the holidays, which will be ready by Thanksgiving. I recently threw out a batch of homemade amaretto which began a bacterial fermentation partway through. :-( My favorite homemade liqueur is a sweet spice brandy/vodka liqueur which I make each fall. This year's batch is underway, I'm drinking from last year's and I have a small amount of the 2002 batch (which came out exceptionally well) remaining for Christmas Eve.

As long as it kills brain cells and dehydrates the hell outta me, I love it! =P

Hardly ever drink now, but Captain Morgan/Coke was my favorite, I could drink them til I passed out (and did many times, that's why I stopped drinking)

No question about this whatsoever! Jack Daniels!!!! if i need sugar with it, add coke. also southern comfort is great for straight shots

No booze for me thanks. I'll have a club soda with lime. No wonder im always the designated driver! :upsidedow
