Another question, something of a hijacking of my own thread.
Does alcohol give you nightmares? The reason I ask: Last week, I slept well in terms of falling asleep quickly and staying asleep well. But I had nightmares almost every night, and they were miserable. Also last week, I drank more than normal. I am suspicious that those two are connected. The most I got was 4 in an evening: 2 glasses of wine with my dinner, a shot of brandy mixed with iced tea as I relaxed in the evening, and carolan's mixed with butterscotch schnapps and milk as I unwound and got ready for bed.
(4 drinks was the maximum, but I generally had at least 1 drink of something every day).
Could this cause my sleep to be plagued by nightmares? Has anyone else had this problem?
I'm doing an experiment. Cold turkey for a few days, not a drop of alcohol. If the nightmares stop, then I'll work back in the drinking as a treat, but with a cap of 2 instead of 4. If htey don't stop, hell--the drinking was unrelated.
Incidentally, I learned a lot from reading your ideas. Many experiments to try in the future. Provided, of course, that the drinking isn't hauntng my dreams.
