what are the non fetish/sexual reasons to like tickling?

What are some reasons a person can have a thing for tickling, but have no sexual tendencies toward it?
Can you be into something like tickling, and have people not thing its a fetish for you?

Some say it's a good way to release stress, or they just like it on a playful level. I just assume most that are here likes it as a fetish or are interested in it as a fetish. But it is contextual.

There are so many reasons people love tickling that are non-sexual/fetish. It's playful, it feels good, it shows affection, it makes people laugh, it reduces stress and anxiety, can help with depression, and it's used a lot in flirting.

Another reason is because some people use it as a form of torture... I'm not talking about some mean sedistic way... but like if a friend finds out your ticklish, even if they don't really like tickling, they might use it against you and tickle you because they find it fun to annoy the person by tickling them, or they like humiliating the person by tickling them...

But I think most people use tickling (if they're not turned on by it) just as some playful way to show affection towards someone. Or another way is you can use it as an excuse to touch someone you like if they don't like you and just say you were doing it because it's fun. 😛

In the general population non sexual tickling is probably by far the more prevalent form of tickle activity for all the reasons already mentioned.

The population on TMF is skewed to a higher percentage interested in sexual aspects. But TMF is small compared to the larger fetish community and minuscule compared to the general population.

laughing can burn lots of calories, so yes. 🙂 and i love tickling for the pure fun of it as well. it feels great! great stress reliever, plus i'm very quiet and shy so the screaming and laughing allows me to let loose in a private, safe setting. 🙂

So probably not the best choice for exercise, but fun nonetheless.

It feels fantastic, it's a lot of fun, it's a rush, and it's funny for someone to be really ticklish and then tickled. Doesn't have to be anything sexual about it.

Yeah, I think it's a behavior that just innately appeals to people. The way a ticklish person responds to tickling -- laughter, squirming -- it's almost as though it's ideally designed to encourage others to tickle him. Or, y'know, her.
