What are your favourite computer/video games?

First kinda physics engine in an RTS i think is in total anihilation, but that was silly cause if you got it just right you could make submarines shoot down planes with torpedoes 😛 .

HAHHA!! Hell yeah I forgot to add that one to my list...I even remember trying to shoot planes down with PeeWees!!! Those damned 1hp lowly soldiers strained their arms all they could, commendable effort...but they soon ended up as reclaimable scrap metal.

Best fun on that is building dozens of nuke silos, slowing the game down to minimum, then launching them all. When you put the speed up again there's just a big splodge of nukes going across the screen 😛 .

YOU PLAYED 3? Hooo boy, u lucky dog...I dont think I'll be seeing it 'till christmas...and aoe 2, well.....my friends and I would usually do the same. "YOU IDIOT! I TOLD YOU THEY WERE THERE!" " NO YOU DIDNT! YOU SAID THEY WERE THERE! " " WE ARE LOOSING! " "NO WE ARENT! " OK, FINE WE ARENT! NOW GIMME! MY TURN! " .....I could go on, but I dont think you want that...😛

You got that one right, my friend. No one is too old for games!

HA! I was an avid Dota player myself for many months. But I haven't touched dota for sometime. Stopped at version 6.13. Now it's already at version 6.25.

It's an old game, so the price should have fallen by a good bit. Both the single player and multiplayer parts of it are a blast (I've had a loooong period of addiction). If you really want to buy it, I suggest looking for gaming pals whom you can engage in multiplayer with, so as to get the most out of the game. If you can find some, it's much more worth buying it than if you'll only play the single player campaigns.

Otherwise, it depends. You might wanna get a demo and try it for yourself, or look for someone who has it and try it out before making a decision.

Right now im playing world of warcraft on my pc and half life 2 on my xbox. World of warcraft is a very simplistic mmorpg. This is a good thing and a bad thing. The good thing is that the game lets you have a life while playing this game. The bad thing is that if your into a more hardcore leveling style, look elsewhere. Most people who have played this game were done in three months, found it boring and left.

half life 2 is a fantastic first person shooter with cool puzzles and action. Acting is well done and graphics are fantastic. There are a few annoying things for the xbox version such as so many loading screens. Thats just minor though. Great, great game for the xbox console.

Wow, you're the first I've heard say that. I've not played it myself (put off by anything that requires me to pay every month regardless of use), but I've heard lots of stories about it. My impression of it is that it has many possibilities due to it being very complicated.

Like I said somewhere, the problem with it is it's TOO good. When I first played it, I managed to get to level 16, and that was a day and a half later, 36 odd hours continuous play, at which point I fell asleep in my chair 😵 .

....and your fingers continued hacking monsters and completing quests from muscle memory alone 😛

EDIT:
Suddenly struck me that if someone was in that state, it'll be nice to place the moving fingers (thinking they're clicking on the mouse) to someone's armpits and let them move all they want.

Alright, it's my turn....I'll start from the beginning...

DEFENDER-atari

DRAGON WARRIOR -nes

ACTRAISER -snes

SIM ANT -snes(incidentally, if anyone here can find an emulator of this game for me, I promise you that I will make you my new god)

TNMT: TURTLES IN TIME -snes

THE SYNDICATE -snes...I love cyber punk.

TWISTED METAL 1 AND 2 -ps1

CIVILIZATION 2 -ps1

STAR WARS BATTLEFRONT -ps2 The second one is starting to grow on me.
---------------------------------------------

As for computers....
Diablo 2 -Like many of you, I also developed a very sick gravitation towards this game. It was practically an obsession...Hell, it WAS an obsession!

STARCRAFT -Pretty much the same story as above

STAR WARS: GALACTIC BATTLEGROUNDS -hmmm. I wonder if using that AT-AT to blow the ever living crap out of an R2 unit was considered a war crime on the grounds of overkill.

TOTAL ANNILATION -I'd LOVE to get my hands on that game again.

MEDIVAL: TOTAL WAR

KNIGHTS OF THE OLD REPUBLIC

THE SIMS

NEVERWINTER NIGHTS

DUNGEON SEIGE

AGE OF MYTHOLOGY

RISE OF NATIONS

Humm *looks through collection* Is this what your looking for?

(one copy of Dosbox dos enulator, one copy of original simant dos game ^^ )

SimAnt! I remember that game.

Oh...mine? I'm partial to Halo 2 myself. Maybe a bit of Devil May Cry...and I recently started playing Tales of Symphonia and find it to be quite good.

i'm hoping to get quake 4 and King Kong soon, those games look really sweet.

not to mention Starship Troopers, the game, that game rocks my socks.

is starcraft worth the money?

IMHO it's the best RTS game ever made, plus the Battlechest only 20 bucks, it contains Starcraft and Starcraft:Broodwar(expansion), I'd say it's worth it.
But maybe you should try it out before you nuynit if you have the chance...
As for the multiplayer games(which is the best part of this kind if games in my opinion), you shouldn't worry that much, when you create a game on battlenet you can specify it's just for newbies(so you don't get your ass kicked too badly) or enter an already created newbies game...

I've been meaning to buy that. Heard good things about it.

I'll have a look at it, but I think civ 3 was a let down for the series. Civ 2 is still my favourite of the civ games, though Colonization is the best sid meier game of all time 😀 .

I saw some clips about it, but from what I saw, it doesnt look too exciting....

I just read about civilization 4....anyone have that?

Not yet. I used to play CIV2 and was gloriously addicted to it, so, by default, I had to get CIV3. I didn't like the third installment one bit.

Heres the kicker: Apparently, when it came time to put CIV3 on the drawing board, Sid Meier decided to let his fans have some input into the new game. They began listing what they thought could be improved upon the third installation to make it better than the second. Sid took these suggestions and used them in CIV3. The game was a comparative flop as opposed to the second because(and this part will kill you) the fans didn't like it as much as the second!

I don't know what is in the fourth, but I guarantee you I have NO intentions of buying it until I get a lot more feedback from fans...Er. The ones who didn't have anything to do with it, anyway. :wooha:
