what book are you reading at the moment?

Waiting for "The Fuller Memorandum"- I'm a huge fan of Charles Stross's "Atrocity Archives/Laundry" books. Hoping someone gives it to me for my birthday!

It's pretty bad, but fits the cheesy entertainment bill. Picked it up for a quarter at a sale at the synagogue down the street.

I am in my Judith Krantz phase..reading Lovers at the moment..which is a continuing series based on Scruples.

I ordered The boy in the Striped Pajamas, The Haunted Man, and The De or Da Vinci Code

I recently finished The Woman in Black, an outstanding, but tragic ghost story.

Mostly plenty of Doctor Who related items. 😀

The 2011 Annual & Brilliant Book! Oh and the Essential Companion on CD. 😉

In the early nineties, after seeing a version of Middlemarch on Master Piece Theater, i was eager to buy the novel...however to my dismay, i found i couldn't get past the first page..disappointed, angry with George Eliot, who i mistakenly felt was a show off author..i put the book aside and never opened it til yesterday..having finished Lovers, i felt i needed something of a more substantial example of higher literature, so i again took the book from my book shelf..opened it..began reading..and what to my delight do i find, that not only am i able easily to read it, but i'm intrigued by the plot and find this is a page turner..

This goes to show that everyone grows, whether they realize it or not..in the early nineties i considered myself rather an expert in literature and reading..and as i said i was disappointed in the fact i couldn't make heads or tales out of what Ms Eliot was saying..but now it's like a whole new revelation..yayyyyyyyy for me lol..

I just started a book last night. I read it once before, a few details have started coming back to me. The first one had some pages fall out of the middle so I got a new copy. I love Amazon. What? Oh right the book :stickout
It's called Countess Dracula. It's loosley based on the Hungairian countess Elizabeth Bathory. I googled her, as ya do, and found a documentry about her. The stuff she did was terrible but it was really interesting. I love history. So yeah, that's what I'm reading right now 🙂

I'm Halfway through a Feast for Crows, by George RR Martin. I've forced myself to leave it along until I'm caught up on all my work at the moment xD

EvolutionRx...It really sheds light on a lot of things. AAnd just picked up Carl Sagan's "Demon Haunted World" at a thrift store of all places!

The Incredible Adventures of Professor Branestawm by Norman Hunter. 🙂 Just for the lols really, but I've got hooked into this little funny childrens book. 😉

Just finished the complete tales of Washington Irving...now reading the complete works of Edgar Allen Poe...and The Thornbirds at the same time

If you like Poe, you might think of coming to Philly and see one of the homes he lived in. It's at 7th & Spring Garden, just north of Center City. I used to pass it every day going to my office.
The area was considered 'suburban' back in the 1840s.

Anathem by Neal Stephenson. Good read so far, a little hard to follow at times with its own lingo for everything at times.

I'm waiting for arrival of The Lost Symbol by Dan Brawn and Il tailleur grigio(The grey suit) by Andrea Camilleri.

Currently in the middle of George MacDonald Frasier's Flashman & the Redskins. Decent, but hardly a favorite of the series thus far.

I am currently reading Dara O'Briain- Tickling the English. And in case youre wondering it isn't because of the title. I love him. Saw him last month and he was fantastic. So I keep dipping into this every now and then. I really like his writing style and of course his wit.
