What did everyone else do for father's day?

OK, not having the boys around this year made this one of the best father's days ever. My dad and I went golfing with my uncle and his dad. They sent us kids to go play on our own cause we were "too loud". I got a hole-in-12, so my cuz made fun of me alot. We crashed the cart 5 times per hole, but it's all good. After that, my dad and I went to some place in STL to eat. After that, we went to see "The Terminal", which I guess was good, but it would have been better if *not spoiling the ending*. My mom wanted nothing to do with today, but she did help me pick out the shirt for dad. He loved it, so I made him wear it for the rest of the day. Good times.

my fathers day

i started the day by taking my oldest daughter to the bus in summit illinois. she went to a school function at eastern illinois univ. suposed to be pretty plum! the bus driver complained he was old and alone and needed help loading the lugage, the other parents stood around looking at the sky so i did it.

i came home, to a cheering greeting from my other 3 kids. they gave me cards, and gifts. very sweet. my wife said happy fathersday, and said she had a card. i told her to go to hell, and to burn the card.
i made a special breakfast for everyone. after that i told my wife if she wanted to make my day a happy one she'd go to her parents for the day. she said nothing, but didn't go either. i assume she wanted to ruin what remained of the day.

later we decided to go out for dinner. the first 2 places we went to were closed. imagine that, closed on fathers day? we ended up at "old country buffett". yeah. my wife insisted on not only sitting at our table, but to sit across from me, thus ruining my dinner too.

we came home and finished the evening by watching movies from block buster video. whoopee.

i took dear old dad to the phillies game. he got a barbecue apron that was handed out to all men over 18 years of age. then we all went for italian dinner.

My wife threw together this party out of nowhere, it just happened...
On Wednesday it was just my small family, by Sunday it turned into a big shindig with cigars and poker(cards) and fun!

My wife also ended the evening rather nicely, but putting her feet in my lap, giving me the "sexy eye" and purred..."be gentle"...
I wasn't 😀

As I posted on here, I dont see my father, but had a nice day anyway. I went out to lunch with my two good friends Russell and Barney at a classy resort called Willow Valley. The meal was incredible, and the food never ending. Barney's father was tragically killed in an auto accident in 1983, so traditionally I've spent father's day with him when not seeing my own father. Russell's parents live in town, but since he sees them all the time, this year they decided to pay a visit to his sister's house in Connecticut for father's day to see their daughter and grandchildren. The day ended after lunch, as Russell had to go home to sleep due to his night job, and Barney had to drive back to New York, a four hour drive from here. All in all, it was a good day.

Well, my parents are moving this week, so I went home to help them get ready, cut the lawn and packed.... We just hung out by the pool, relaxed and watched some of the golf, all in all a good day 🙂

i took my father, husband and kids to brunch then had them all back to my house for a bit. Beautiful day in the northeast.

Well, for this being my first, I must say I definitely can get used to this!!!😛 LOL Well, the family took me and the other men of the family to the Cubs game against the A's, then went out to eat, then spent the evening on a riverboat, then suprisingly without a fight from the missus, tickled her very well, then ending my night spending time with my twins. Life couldn't get much better than that.

Another day...

Went to the gym, came home and made brunch for my daughter/wife, vegged out with the computer for 2 hours and then started helping prepare dinner for my Dad...lol. Made him his favorites and let him eat outside on our back deck, which is one of his favorite things to do in this weather. A relaxing day.

This kind of situation saddens me a bit, Steve. May they always think that way of you, by the way.

My parents live in Florida now, so I spoke to them over the phone. My father spent Father's Day the way he always loved: golf in the morning, and golf on the tube in the afternoon, sitting on the lanai, with a Royal Jamaica Churchill planted in his puss. This year, I can afford a nice gift, so I sent him a gift card to Home Depot in the mail, with enough value on the card to make a nice shopping day.

My wife and I spoke to him while we were visiting the public gardens where we got married, on what had to be the most beautiful Sunday afternoon of this year, or any year. Days like that were made for outings where two old farts like us can walk around like teenagers, holding hands, stuff like that...a very nice Sunday.

This was one of the best Father's Days ever for us 🙂.

My hubby received hand made cards from both our three yr old and 6 yr old, and three DVDs plus a snazzy new shirt from me, which he wore with his boxers while we had lox and bagels for breakfast (which was excellent). After watching the first season of Barney Miller-the one DVD that worked (see my other thread), he spent the whole rest of the day putting together our huge new swing and slide set in the backyard with my best friend's hubby. There was much beer 😉. I spent the time leaving the men alone-except to be the beer wench-and painted our new living room a VERY bright yellow, which I may tone down but I love for now...ended the day sitting on the new swings and talking about the new house and all our plans over popsicles.

A great day spent with the BEST Daddy I know 😎
