Jpie, I had to laugh with your comment about Jewish people going for Chinese food on Christmas, because Iam Jewish, and that's exactly what my mom and I did! Lancaster is generally buttoned up tight on Christmas, except for Denny's and Chinese food, so we had a gormuet Chinese meal on Christmas night. I love Chinese food, and will eat it anytime. Anyhow, just wanted to post what I had for dinner on Christmas on here, and say that I agreed with your comment about many Jews having Chinese on Christmas, because thats what I've eaten for the last 3 years on Christmas, come to think of it.

He must have missed your post as you were then one who actually made that comment, I just agreed!! LOL, but somehow all we Jewish had a bit of chinese food over Christmas!!

Yesterday, for Christmas Two (my best friend and his family coming over), the Miz made stuffed shells along with sausage and peppers. For dessert, she made brownie rings. So rich, I only was able to have half.

An acquired taste: sweet potato french fries, discovered at a famous Jewish dairy restaurant in New Hyde Park, NY. Out of this world. I now make them myself, although, I have a limited audience- the Miz doesn't like sweet potatoes any more than Neutron does. Nevertheless, they're a welcome treat, a departure from the boring.

sweet potatoe fries

i had them several years ago, south of the mason-dixon line, in an establishment that was far from being a jewish deli! lol.

i make sweet potatoe fries at home, and love them. my two oldest, and the old ball-and-chain does too.

i started to go out to chinese restuarants on christmas after the kids got old enough to catch that part in the movie "a christmas story". it fun, and the staff are so nice, and thankfull to see people! lol.

i'm just the opposite of a veggitarian, i'm on a modified form of the atkins diet. 50% of my intake is meat. and i'm the only one in my family, and friends that DOESN'T gain weight over the holidays!
