What do you hate most about tickling?

Two things come to mind:

1)
I agree with this
also I hate the fact that so many people really hate being tickled and that it's like pure torture for them. :sowrong:

Along these lines, I hate that so many icky people have used tickling in an icky way which has left so many people with an icky perception of tickling and those that like to tickle.

2) That there are so many people who can't accept that tickling can mean something different to someone else than it means to them.

Were this facebook, I would have simply "likes this" the following! lol

that it's easy to find guys who like to tickle but difficult to find ones who actually have the fetish, ya know? 🙂

I realize this is a very real issue for many ladies - but if I had a nickel for all the times I've heard this.. LOL

Another thing I hate: Lers referring to Lees as victims....we are not victims, we put ourselves in this position.
Plus when you say victim, it makes it sound like something very very wrong is happening, when it's not.

Roleplaying/headspace games notwithstanding, I feel the same way.

Oh yeah and that somehow tickling = feet I may not hate, but it is about a half degree below hate in annoyance.

I really don't believe that it has anything to do with who did the tickling to people who don't like it. They dislike the sensation, pure and simple.

I actually meant the many cases of abuse, molestation and other erstwhile violations of trust it's been used in.

What does "erstwhile" mean? Also, nobody I know has an icky perception of tickling or an icky perception of people who like tickling.

The marginalised mentality and innate victim complex that seems to be a part of the tickling fetish for some people, I hate that.

I hate the fact that some lers don't know when to quit....they get into a tickle frenzy and can't stop, even when I'm at the point where my face is turning a purplish color and wheezing

I doubt that there are all that many cases of people who hate tickling because something like that happened to them. That's probably only rare occasions, and those people probably dislike more than just tickling!

Uhm - that shouldn't happen! That's what the safeword is for!

You and I never get into arguments about anything, but do you honestly think that above? It doesn't take much internet searching to see many, many stories of abuse/molestation/violation that started with something innocent like tickling. For so many abusers it was their was to make it all seem innocent at the start. Venray has done 2 or 3 TMF Radio shows on abuse, with packed houses and callers who all said it started that way for them, and it was a long long time before they could look at tickling in an innocent way again, much less come to like it in the end. I'm not putting you down Rhi, just saying, into some of the things before saying them. It's almost a slap in the face to those who went through it. It's totally cool it's your opinion, but just saying.

I don't doubt that a lot of molestations start with tickling. I just think the great majority of people who don't like tickling have not been molested!

Actually I tend to believe that for some people their fetishism is somehow linked to a traumatic experience more than a dislike for something. I didn't want to believe that for a long time, but a lot of SM-people and tickling lovers I am in contact with have been molested, abused or raped at some point of their lives.

I don't really actually KNOW if that is somehow linked to their preferrence, but I have a strong feeling that it it.

I hate when a person doesn't know how to tickle. Like they have one technique and that's to dig in as hard as possible. This doesn't tickle. It fucking hurts. The lee might be laughing, but it could still be painful at the same time. Or when a person tickles the same spot with the same pressure/speed for a super long time until you're not sure if you're skin is being scratched off because you've already gone numb. Mix it up a bit, will you?

I hate that I don't have any control over it. I wish i could turn it off and on in certain situations, or at least keep it contained.

lol good catch on the bad grammar, but I'm guessing your circle of acquaintances falls somewhere short of five billion?

Not saying everyone who doesn't like tickling feels that way because of some traumatic event. Just saying there are those that have had trauma associated with it, and I hate that. I hate that there was the trauma to begin with, especially for children, but this thread is specific to tickling. Even if the dozen or so I know personally are the only cases there have ever been on earth, I'd say that's a dozen too many in my book.

I hate lack of armpit tickling. I LOVE MY UNDERARMS BEING TICKLED, but I don't get it enough 🙁 And when I do, it's usually hard digging/scratching that does nothing but hurt me 🙁

Awww. I am sad for you...lol

Underarm tickling is probably my favorite, especially from a visual standpoint. Not only does it look great in a clip, but you get to see your lee's face more or less eye to eye.

Oh wait... what we HATE about tickling...forgot...lol

Virginia and Toronto? That's a whale of a commute....

So my experience is invalid because I don't know 5/6ths of the world's estimated population? Are you suggesting that there is some sort of bubble of people who either enjoy or don't feel strongly either way about tickling that consists of TMF members and my accquaintances?

Fair enough. It's not very nice to think that there are people who hate tickling because they associate it with a traumatic experience. I hate people giving me lollipops for the exact same reason.

My thoughts exactly! 😀

And yep... currently in the immigration-to-Canada process :bouncybou

I can't STAND having my underarms tickled!! I think my record is like 10 seconds!

But its one of those love/hate things, so I can't say I would ever make them off limits.

Well you better swing by before you're official, then!

How can you abandon Virginia weather for Toronto weather? Wow.

Christopher

For the right person, you'll do just about anything. I abandoned
Coastal Carolina weather for New England weather. :doublethrust:

It's much more odd to a random person to start tickling their feet, in my opinion, than to tickle their underarms. That seems quite normal!

i'm not sure if this addresses the question, but

it is distressing that i am a fan of underarm tickling, and feel that i can't do that. most guys with a tickling fetish could give a random person a poke on the side, or tickle their feet IMO without it seeming odd. however, can't really tickle someone's underarms because it seems most people find it weird or gross or something. and so i march on unsatisfied. waaaah

Great idea for a post, CrystalLight!

I can't add anything new to responses, other than the fact that I probably will never get to tickle emilyemilyemily.
