what happens at a gathering?

hey folks;

i was browisng this forum a few weeks ago when there was a lot of talk about gatherings. now i managed to suss out that a gathering is where people gather 🙂confused: ) but beyond there its a total blank.

i'm pretty sure im not the only d!ckhead out there, so can someone please enlighten the un-enlightened? thanks!

Well, coolman, they tend to run something like this........

First of all, there is usually a "get acquainted session", where the various attendees can mingle &, well, get acquainted. Oftentimes there is also a buffet or some other kind of food offering (usually at the same time as the get acquainted session).

After a while, the various scenes start forming: some may get together, restrain some "unfortunate" (yeah, right! 😉 ) & commence a "public" scene. Others may split off into "couples" or very intimate groups for "private" scenes. Of course, every precaution is taken to ensure the safety & respect the desires of the -lees: there are usually people designated as "dungeon masters," whose primary responsibility is to maintain order & enforce the wishes of the various -lees. It's also not unusual for there to be several scenes happening simultaneously. These assorted scenes run their course & other scenes begin & take their place. Depending on the size & location of the gathering, the activities can run from several hours to the better part of the day (& evening).

After the events have wound down, there is also customarily a brunch or other social event for the participants to say their good-byes before going their separate ways.

Then...........on to the next gathering.......

Kwil pretty much summed it all up (nice job Mango!). The only thing I wish to add is that occassionally, a gathering may last longer then a few hours or one day. The gathering I am hosting in Sept in Wisconsin, will be an all weekend event. It will begin Friday evening, and go through Sunday early afternoon. (hey, one day of tickling just isn't enough! I'd love to have a gathering for a whole week sometime!)

Another thing I wish to add quickly is that they are SOOOOOOO much fun. That is why you are seeing more and more topics based on gatherings floating about. The more people that take that step and attend their first gathering, the more people there are that develope an overnight addiction and can not WAIT to do it again. If our tickling community keeps growing the way it has been, and if gatherings keep growing in popularity the way THEY have been, then I would not be too surprised to see the day in a few years where you never have to drive more then a few hours to find a gathering in your region. How freakin cool that would be 😀 😉

What happens at a gathering?

People tickle me, and elicit many colorful expletives from me, in addition to giggles, belly laughs, and, according to kwildoctr and others, squeaks! (Nightfall, upon entering the scene I was doing in Connecticut, said, "She squeaks!")

And now for a serious answer. As I found when I went to the Superbowl gathering in January (my first), lees make the rules. Their safety and comfort come first, and, as kwil mentioned, there are dungeon masters present to make sure that nothing happens that a lee doesn't want to happen. I was nervous, but TickledToDeath had told me that I would feel completely comfortable once I met and chatted with everyone, and he was right. It helps if you chat with people on the Forum beforehand, and maybe exchange emails. I have made many new friends here, and met my dear, sweet...EVIL!...kwildoctr through the Forum.

They've got it covered rather well. The only thing that's not being mentioned a lot, that IS done with most gatherings, is that they're screened with a questionairre for nearly all events. Your privacy is maintained, but all attendees are known to the host. Safety first, after all.

Gatherings are both a means of socializing with more of "us", and a place where public and private tickling play is possible, with or without bondage. Yes, there HAVE been events where someone wanted to be tickled, but hated being tied. Ticklers cooperate so well that way. 😉

For play, with any reasoned gathering, 'lees DO make the rules. They volunteer themselves, and have the right to say what's allowed, and with whom.

Often, now, there's folks meeting for meals before and after the events. Several events have had private parties in local hotels. Many of us that made friends at events have met outside of the events, and remain friends to this day.

Gatherings are a lot of fun, and are cropping up, coast to coast. They've been going on, since the late 90s. It's no longer where there's just a handful of events, too. It ain't like you need dozens of folks to make friends and have fun, after all. It IS a blast, though, to go to NEST, and see over fifty of us. Gets bigger every time.

Jim, are you laying over at Kennedy Airport? If so and the days work out well, perhaps a couple of the NYC bunch could take you out for a $10 cheeseburger in Manhattan while you're bored and give ya the 10 cent quickie tour....lol? That way at least you'll have a few good memories of your trip before the American Beauties show you why we're #1 in all things worldwide..lol....
