Hmmmmmm, I gave up on the idea of a perfect, permanent gal years ago. I love being a bachelor and just doing the dating thing for what it was like back in my high school days- fun, adventurous, usually temporary and definitely uncommitted. I value my freedom and independence too much to be locked down into a marriage or serious engagement. There are many days that I just want to go home and not have to answer to some chick wondering where I have been, what I have been doing and who I have been with. Lots of times I like to just go home and be alone or hang out with my buddies too without any interruptions or aggravations. So my opinion for a perfect mate is not to ever have one in the first place!

I WISH I could have a life like that. I'm too old for bachelorhood. It sucks.

Secretly, I fantasise about being dead inside. LOL.

Life is about making compromises and striving for a reasonable degree of happiness, rather than seeking "perfection." No mortal human being is "perfect," so the elusive search for the stereotypically ideal mate is guaranteed to result in disappointment. It's better to keep flexible and realistic goals than to build castles in the sky and end up bitter and alone.

I am very happy with my choice of mate, and I hope that everyone here will be as fortunate as I have been. When you base your decision on LOVE, as I have, you will KNOW when you have found the right person for you 🙂

Acorna don't be so quick to rule out more mature men. My hubby is 13 years my senior and I've been with him since I was...well...younger than you. 😛 Men take a long time to grow up and younger guys often don't have what it takes to be in a relationship. 😛

Well I'm currently in college pursuing (gasp) a degree in psychology. Sophmore year, about to have my associate's in Music and go into psychology. The one guy that wants to date me, well, we just don't click. He knows it, I know it.. there's no point if there's no click, plus he's a little odd.. and he has some REALLY WEIRD fetishes...

I don't think you can complain much about fetishes of any kind when you have one yourself *shrugs*

There's a nice young man at my work who is 19 and supposed to be very handsome(all the girls talk about him). I would say he's pretty manly, with the way he acts and talks about things. He's incredibly funny, extremely into football and other sports, he's a good worker, and he is simply one of the nicest, friendliest people I've ever met. Its truly too bad you don't live near me 🙁

Don't give up hope, there's someone out there for everybody. I'm also waitin' for the right girl, as I have been my whole life. You just gotta be patient. You know if you're patient and you wait for the right person it will be SO worth it in the end. I don't think your standards are unreasonable, you should be able to find someone close to that someday. With regard to the age thing, my dad is about 12 years older than my mom, and they have always been a fantastic couple. So it just goes to show that age isn't necesarily as important as a lot of people might think. Its how well the two people get along, and how much they have in common that matters most, I think. In the end, its all about love =P.
