Well, I live in the greater Philadelphia radio market, so I'd say anything by Bruce Springsteen! They play him to death around here!!

Bruce Springsteen for sure, Meatloaf, and anything to do with Kim Mitchell 😛

Sorry Peter Frampton Fans...

...I have to go with anything from him. Eeeek.

Victoria

PS>>>Stop dissin' my Bruce. LOL

So the "greatest classic rock song" is supposed to be something we don't like or are sick of hearing? In that case, I'll say most classic rock songs, though more the "sick of hearing" rather than "don't like." If you're supposed to name your favorite classic rock songs, then I'll say:

Black Sabbath: "War Pigs"
AC/DC: "Whole Lotta Rosie"
The Who: "Tommy" (entire album)

Under the Boardwalk by the Drifters.
Not sure if that qualifies as rock, but it sure makes me change the station.

Probably anything by The Doobie Brothers or The Eagles, I'm SOOOOOO sick of "Long Train Running". And "Life's Been Good" by Joe Walsh.
And I really HATE "Brass in Pocket" by The Pretenders!

Sorry Michael Bolton Fans

...anything from him. Sounds like someone is grabbing his b@ll$ while he's trying to sing...

I'm not really sick of hearing it, but could ease up a little: and that is My Sacrifice by Creed

Now, if I get the meaning of this thread right, we're supposed to list classic rock songs that we're sick of hearing over and over, correct? Ok.

I don't get it too bad from CHOM out of Montreal, they're pretty AOR-oriented and play a wide variety of different stuff, including a lot of prog-rock. The other two "classic" stations in the area, however, pretty much recycle the same K-Tel stuff over and over. Here are the ones I instantly change stations on:

You Really Got Me (BOTH damn versions!)
Rock and Roll All Night (Kiss)
American Woman (Guess Who)
Takin' Care of Business (BTO)
Bennie and the Jets (Elton John)
Freebird (Lynyrd Skynyrd)
Anything by Tragically Hip - I just do not get the fascination...I HATE that freakin' band...
Anything by Bryan Adams, post-Joshua Tree U2 or Queen gets zapped as well.

There's probably a hundred more, but these stick out.

Gotta add to this list, sorry if I piss anybody off:

The Eagles-"Hotel California", "Life in the Fast Lane", Take It Easy"
Doobie Brothers- "Long Train Running"
The Who- "Baba O' Riley", "Behind Blue Eyes", "Who Are You"
Joe Walsh- "Life's Been Good", "Rocky Mountain Way"
Kansas- "Carry On Our Wayward Son"
Led Zeppelin- "Rock and Roll", "Ramble On"
Queen- "We Will Rock You/We Are the Champions"

And the kicker is, there are so many other good songs by all these bands, but the radio chooses to ignore the more obscure stuff and play these warhorses to death.

My apologies from before. I didn't read the purpose of this thread. When I see greatest classic songs of all time I don't think of it in a negative connatation. The songs I am most sick of hearing are

Foxy Lady by Jimi Hendrix
Anything from Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers
Cashmere by Led Zeppelin
Who are You from The Who
Tainted Love
Jenny (867-5309)

It's a shame that some of these artists don't play some of their more obsecure songs b/c they really rock. The top 40 for the way it's played seems like top 3

o for me its gotta be

1.Iron Maiden-Hallowed Be Thy Name

3.Iron Maiden-The Trooper

4.Van Halen-Aint Talking Bout Love

5.Eric Clapton-Layla

6.probley a band people havent heard of but Rainbow -Kill The King

7.WASP-Mean Man

8.Jimmy Hendrix-Purple Haze

and theres one song by Jethro Tull or toll lol i forget the name of it
