What is the meaning of your TMF name?

My name comes from my Fly Fishing passion.... my favourite fish is our native char, the jewel of the stream, the brook trout......hence Brookie.

I have a tendency to over-think and stress out over the little things. So deciding for a screename was no exception. So I finally said to myself "just keep it simple", hence the acronym kis. I thought the 123 would be a cute ending!

You think I would've learned something by now, right! 😉 :woot:

BTW, NT-it's good to see you posting again! I hope things are getting better.

Way back in 1995 when I signed up on AOL I wanted the screen name "TickleBelly," because of my love of the ticklish female belly, however that screen name was already taken. So I decided on a little variant of the spelling and came up with "TikleBelly"

So yes, I do know how to spell Tickle! hehehehe

Back then AOL had the Tickling chat room. Those were fun times!

Later I created another AOL screen name with correct spelling "TummyTickler" mostly because I was tired of going into AOL chat rooms and having people misread "TikleBelly" as "TinkleBelly" lol

:bump:

Well, back when I first started playing guitar we would have band practice and the other mates would show up having their parts learned wrong. So one day I just blurted out "listen to your daddy, this is how the song goes," and ever since then it just stuck in my hometown. So when I first came online, I called myself "daddylonghair" (because I have long hair) but have then since just shortned it to daddy.

peace out,
daddy

Well, mine has historical reference.

Prinny was the nickname of the Prince of Wales back in the early 1800's. He was appointed Prince Regent when his father, George III, was declared unfit to rule due to his "illness" (he was basically declared insane). He was Prince Regent in 1811 and remained Prince Regent until 1820 when his father died and Prinny was declared king. Yes, the nickname is for a guy, but it's still cutesty enough for a girl 🙂 Plus, it also shows that I like that time period, not surprisingly called the "Regency" period.

And there's your daily history lesson. 😀

Oh, and for those of you who knew me in the old AOL chat room and my sn was PRINNY49... the "49" came from an old Girl Scout reference. LOL I went on a wagon train for Girl Scouts and our wagon was number 4. Our wagon leader had a friend that was on the trip as well and her wagon number was, yep, you guessed it, 9. So, our wagons became the "49'ers." Corny, I know. But I still remember the trip because of that! 🙂

I'm really late to this thread, but I'll contribute.

I didn't want a nickname with "tickle" or "tickling" or "tk" in it because that's a given.

I thought briefly of "tickler" or "'ler" -- but my eventual nickname had those three letters in there anyway.

My freshman year in college (1991, University of Florida), when requesting a personal Internet account (on old VAX systems... wow!), you were advised against using your name. A nickname, or something like a CB handle, would be better. I was majoring in environmental studies, and "Recycler" seemed kinda cool and industrial-sounding. Of course, not soon after I picked the name, ZZ Top came out with an album called "Recycler." I like ZZ Top, but not THAT much.

1973 is the year I was born. My birthday is July 16th. Yes, it's true, I'm a Cancer on society.

(I didn't want to pick the current year, because the current year always changes, and your date of birth usually doesn't.)

Now you know. And knowing is half the battle. G.I. Joe.

I got the idea from a little-known movie called What the Bleep Do We Know. It's all about metaphysics. In it, quantum physicist Fred Alan Wolf appears on the cover of a made-up comic book called "Doctor Quantum." I love that movie. A lot of people will find it WAY out there, but I don't think you have to agree with the viewpoints that they're pushing to find it entertaining.

lmao

isabeau and what does your nick mean bigjim? hehe

:bump:

Sadly, not what the salacious of mind might imply, much though I'd like it to. :cry1:

Simply implies my name is Jim (well, Jamie actually - but you get the picture) and I'm built like a brick shithouse.

wellllllllll thanks for that image big jim. funny you should mention that my sister is jamie are you scottish? and i wasnt implying anything at all.

isabeau :wow:

Where I went to school (Bloomsburg University), the mascot was the Husky. Also, I was in the marching band, so there you go. How I first picked up the name can be blamed on American Pie. When that movie came out, my AIM name was Flutist25. So, naturally, everyone and their respective sibling decided to IM and ask the famous question, thinking no guy plays flute. After getting thoroughly sick of it, I changed it over to HuskyMarcher, and it's stuck. Occasionally I'll also go by BlueArmyMan, Blue Army being a term for Aerosmith fans, but that's kind of a rarity.

you played the flute , husky? i majored in flute in college. music performance nice to meet a fellow flautist.

Nope, English. Odd thing though is that me, my brother and my sister were all the recipients of Scottish names and no-one actually realised it until I (the youngest) was well into my twenties.

I'm trying to say that I (Ray) love ticklish feet. The 'less than' symbol , and the '3' combined are supposed to form a heart.

<3

Hmmm.

Etienne and isabeau were indeed the names of the main characters in the film, Ladyhawke. Etienne is French for Stephen. Many mistake me for female with the Etienne nic.

Etienne and isabeau were indeed lovers in the movie and that is why isabeau and I on tmf have selected those nics. We are perfectly matched as Ler and lee but are separated for many reasons so feel like the star crossed lovers in Ladyhawke.
:redheart:

anyone who has heard Etienne on the phone will have no doubt he is all male. especially while whispering how unmercfully he would tickle my feet and other places. sooo sexy

isabeau <<<<----

phone voice

Fortunately for the rest of the tmf population and unfortunately for you my dear, my phone calls are all reserved for only you. :twohugs:
Etienne

you have that the wrong way Etienne, fortunate for me unfortunate for the rest of the forum.

Recycler and other computer enthusiasts may be interested to know that the company I worked for (until they closed our office...the jerks..) serviced huge energy and transportation clients using a VAX mainframe until summer of 2004! The thing was almost 20 years when they literally "pulled the plug" on it. Very sad day when that happened.

Anyway...my nickname is kind of lame...it's the number of a condominium unit that I am especially fond of at a central Florida resort. Someone thought it sounded sort of science-fictiony so I've kept it.

I was wondering if "Isabeau" had anything to do with Ladyhawke. It remains one of my favorite films. (I have always been a big fan of Rutger Hauer and consider Ladyhawke and The Hitcher his best.)

Anyhooo...

My Sn is rather simple. My name is Dave and since that was taken in the first eleven seconds of the Internet, I needed to add a number. 2112 is my favorite Rush album, which happened to be a concept album based loosely on my favorite novel, Ayn Rand's Anthem.

I am another who had thought about changing it (to Ci-Rynn, my Jedi alter ego...a respelling of my middle name, Cirean) but my SN is such a part of my online life (not to mention emblazoned all over my copyrighted artwork), that it would be foolish at this point.

Easy easy...

Mine's easy enough... Ticklish+shoe size. Though now that I've grown a bit it ought to be altered to Ticklish10's ::lol:: (Yeah, I joined TMF just a bit before I was technically supposed to click that "18 and over" link, but I can't say I'm alone 😛 )

And no, I'm not a girl. 😛
